Keratea is every corner of Greece the struggles for the right to life, dignity and the future!

Keratea is a small town with a population of 7.500 people. It is located in the south region of Attica, 40 km from Athens.
The people of this small town are under siege by the repression forces and clash every day, since December 11th, with the riot police forces. These clashes are particularly violent and the police forces are attacking against older people or youth mercilessly and indiscreetly.
The region of Keratea was chosen to become a city damp along with two other areas (in Attica also) in 2003 by the then social-democrat government with the financing of the European Union. No matter how they are named they are actually city damps quite close or inside residential districts that will destroy the environment and seriously degrade the every day life of the people, their health, and their activities without solving the problem of garbage. Meanwhile there are tens of thousands lay offs in the municipalities (that allegedly manage the garbage in Greece) and major cut offs according the directives of the Memorandum, the European Union, the IMF and the European Central Bank that aggravate the situation. These projects benefit only the big contractors and the planning of the government. Therefore the attempt to implement these projects is met with the justified and mass protests of the people in the area.
The people of Keratea and other areas have every right to defend their region from devastation and nothing can oblige them to solve themselves the problem of garbage. Had the governments wanted to solve the problem in a way that would serve the interests and the needs of the people they would have done it long ago, since there are so many studies and experience from other countries regarding solutions to the interest of the city residents and the environment.
The government and the municipalities, by and large, chose solutions that serve the interests of big contractors in a way that there will be profit either for them or the municipalities through town dues.
A whole army of riot police forces – more than 1.500 men - accompanied the machinery of the contractors at 04.00 am on Saturday, 11 of December 2010. It is about a particularly beautiful area with archeological sites. Still the residents of Keratea were not surprised and after alarming the church bells and tooting their claxons assembled to defend their home town. Ever since then, the attacks by the riot police forces are constant day in – day out despite the court decisions in favor of the residents. The government considers the so called legitimacy – in the cases that it is in favor of the residents, as in the case of Keratea – as well as the laws and the Constitution simple waste.

Solidarity with the Tunisian revolt!

The sacrifice of a small peddler who set himself on fire on the 17th of last December after having his wares confiscated because he had no “permit”, has sparked a widespread fire on all cities of Tunisia. For a month now the people of this country, with the youth in the forefront, are revolting against the reactionary and autocratic regime. This revolt that started as anger against high prices and unemployment but also against political repression was quickly transformed to a political confrontation and demand for the overthrow of the president and his reactionary regime.
The response of the reactionary forces was the intensification of the repression with 70 dead, hundreds of wounded and widespread arrests of communists and leftists. But the people goes on and escalates his demonstrations so the president Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, a lackey of the western imperialists, is forced to flee the country and the PM Mohammed Ghannouchi announces that he will lead the country to elections, in order to disorientate the people and stem the popular resistance. But the popular masses and the youth insist on their resistance although the regime deploys the army and tanks in order to suppress the popular revolt.
The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) expresses its solidarity with the fighting people of Tunisia and calls all left forces of our country to support jointly the struggle of the Tunisian people and demand the release of all political prisoners.

The international criminals, leaders of the Israeli state have hit again! They proved once more that they are equal successors of the Nazi-fascist crimes of the 20^th century.

They murdered in cold blood unarmed supporters of the Palestinians’ struggle after they captured their ships, among them two Greek ships, which carried humanitarian aid and attempted to break the siege of Gaza Strip. They arrested hundreds members of the Free Gaza Movement, injured dozens of them and captured all the ships. Not as common pirates, though! For the contemporary pirates, for example, in Somalia coasts and elsewhere have proved that they respect human life. They committed it as absolute sub-humans, and serial killers-terrorists. Only a modern Nuremberg trial is what they should be facing.

Everyone with the US imperialists in charge, that supported Israel for decades in its genocidal policy it had carried out against the people of Palestine, is equally responsible for Israel’s crimes. The Greek government is equally guilty for what happened today at dawn, actually in international waters. It remained silent all these days despite the Israeli threats and continued the close relationships with the Israeli Zionist regime. Only after the slaughter it was forced to withdraw form the joint military exercises with the Israeli armed forces which committed at that time another crime against humanity.

Milioni di Greci contro il Fondo Monetario Internazionale (FMI) e l’ Unione Europea (UE)

Mercoledi 5 Maggio centinaia di milliaia di lavoratori greci del settore pubblico e privato, disoccupati, giovani, pensionati, immigrati, piccoli imprenditori, ecc, hanno affollato le strade delle principali città greche in ocasione dello sciopero generale. Per molti decenni il paese non ha vissuto manifestazioni cosi massiccie ed esasperate. Ad Atene il corteo è stato enorme e ha avuto una lunga durata, nonostante le contiue aggressioni della polizia e delle forze anti-sommossa (MAT). Altretanto grandi manifestazioni sono state verificate a Salonicco, Patrasso, Ioannina, Larisa, Volos ma anche nei capo luoghi delle isole del Egeo e del Ionio nonchè ai capo luoghi dell’ isola di Creta. Mediante queste manifestazioni, la grande maggioranza del popolo greco ha dichiarato in modo palese che è contrario ai provedimenti e alle manovre macroeconomiche intraprese dal governo greco in collaborazione con il Fondo Monetario Internazionale e l’ Unione Europea. Inpiù, la maggioranza del popolo greco ha chiarito che lottera con grande determinazione al fine di capovolgere i provedimenti intrapresi.

Le manovre economiche annunciate sono state il frutto dell’ accordo tra il governo del PASOK e il FMI e l’ UE. Oltre tutto, tali manovre prevedono grandi diminuzioni al livello dei salari dei lavoratori del settore pubblico nonchè migliaia di licenziamenti, tagli alle pensioni, liberalizzazione della quota legale dei licenziamenti nel settore privato, diminuzione dell’ indennita di buona uscita nel caso del licenziamento, abolizione dei contratti collettivi di lavoro, grandi aumenti delle imposte indirette, aumento dell’ IVA, privatizzazioni, grandi tagli alla spesa pubblica nei settori della sanità, della pubblica istruzione e dello Stato sociale. In pratica, tali manovre costituiscono una politica di bestiale barbaria sociale, la quale avrà come effetto immediato il ritorno della Grecia nei decenni precedenti, durante i quali era diffusa la povertà, la disoccupazione e la pauperizzazione della maggior parte del popolo greco. Gli scopi basilari e reali dei provedimenti sono: il salvataggio degli speculatori-creditori della Grecia, la grande diminuzione del costo del lavoro per poter attirare i ferocci investimenti stranieri, la svendita della ricchezza del paese e la tutela dei profitti dell’ interna classe elitistica borghese. Tramite questi provedimenti macroeconomici, la Grecia si arrende totalmente al Capitale straniero imperialistico e alle sue Organizzazioni internazionali. La Grecia si trasforma in modo automatico ed ufficiale in una colonia dei «banditi» stranieri e contemporraneamente il popolo greco si trova sottomesso agli sostegni economici internazionali e agli ordini del FMI e degli Europei imperialisti.

Questo procedimento non è stato effettuato da un momento all’ altro. Mediante la partecipazione della Grecia nell’ Unione Europea (ex Communità Europea) dagli inizi degli anni ’80, l’ economia greca si è sottomessa alle direttive dei monopoli europei ed è stata espugnata dalle multinazionali e dal Capitale Europeo in misura maggiore rispetto agli anni precedenti. Gradualmenete, sono stati decomposti i seguenti settori: il settore agricolo, l’ industria leggera e le strutture produttive. Inoltre, c’è stato il crollo delle esportazioni di quelli settori produttivi nei quali la Grecia presentava enormi vantaggi comparati rispetto ad altri paesi. La produzione interna è stata sostituita dall’ aumento delle importazioni. La situazione ha iniziato ad aggravarsi dopo l’ adesione del paese alla zona dell’ Euro e dopo l’ evidenziarsi dell’ incapacità dello Stato Greco di attuare una politica monetaria e valutaria indipendente. La Grecia, come del resto tutti i paesi della periferia europea, è diventata un grande cliente delle esportazioni tedesche e francesi, le quali venivano sovvenziate e finanziate dal prestito Statale e dall’ indebitamento dei soggetti privati. In Grecia è fallito il sistema elitistico della borghesia interna, il quale aveva come obiettivo principale la trasformazione della Grecia in un paese dove il settore terziario e il settore turistico sarebbero stati prevalenti. Il sistema non ha evitato il fallimento perchè è stato influenzato in modo immediato dall’ intrusione del Capitale straniero e dagli effetti della crisi internazionale capitalista.

La crisi debittoria della Grecia costituisce solamente la prefazione di una crisi generale, la quale è stata scoppiata alle economie del Sud Europeo ed è il frutto del conflitto del capitali, delle valute, dei tassi di cambio e delle politiche intraprese nel contesto delle forze imperialistiche. In pratica, si verifica un antagonismo forte, causato dalla crisi capitalista e dal susseguirsi dei tentativi intrapresi dalle parti economiche – finanziarie al fine di attribuire una all’ altra il costo pesante della crisi capitalista. L’ aggressione dei cosidetti speculatori al fine di centrare la bancarotta dello Stato Greco ha come obiettivo principale il sabotaggio dell’ Euro e la messa in prova della coesione della zona dell’ Euro. La Grecia è stata scelta perchè rappresenta il cerchio debole di questa catena. Di sicuro questo tipo di aggressione continuerà, perchè è stato provato che la zona dell’ Euro costituisce un caso peculiare per via dei gravi problemi, delle grandi contrapposizioni e degli antagonismi nazionali che si evidenziano e ostacolano la coordinazione delle politiche.

Indipendentemente dal percorso dell’ Euro e l’ evolversi della crisi internazionale, il dato di importanza rilevante è che la lotta dei lavoratori e il loro tentativo di capovolgere le politiche barbare possono ispirare una grande speranza. In questi giorni i lavoratori Greci si trovano per le strade contro il terrorismo della polizia e contro la fomentazione che organizzano i vari centri di potere, i quali hanno come obiettivo principale quello di impaurire i manifestanti. I manifestanti tentano di protegere i loro cortei dalla polizia e dalla violenza crudele di quelli che sono responsabili della morte dei tre impiegati della Banca bruciata ad Atene. I manifestanti mandano alla comunità internazionale un messaggio di solidarietà di classe e invitano specialmente i lavoratori Europei di ribellarsi e di lottare contro le misure di austerità che vengono decise ed intraprese all’ interno di molti paesi dell’ Unione Europea.

I lavoratori Greci, i disoccupati, gli immigrati, i giovani e gli anziani lottano per mandare via il FMI e Unione Europea ma anche per ottenere il capovolgimento delle misure firmate dal governo di Papandreu. Lottano per ottenere l’ uscita del paese dall’ Unione Europea. Devono continuare a lottare per ottenere una Grecia indipendente e governata dal popolo. Cioè una Grecia che rappresenta l’ unica soluzione per poter affrontare la classe interna borghese-capitalistica, la quale ha portato l’ economia e la società greca in questa situazione.

Die KPG(m-l) begrüsst die hunderttausenden Arbeiter, Jugendlichen, Arbeitslosen und Rentner, die in ganz Griechenland ihren Wut gegen die barbarischen Maßnahmen der Regierung, der imperialistischen Mechanismen des IWF und der EU demonstriert haben. Die KPG(m-l) betonnt den einmaligen massiven Ärger und die Entschlossenheit der Arbeiter zu kämpfen die Massnahmen zu stürzen und die Verbrecher des IWF und der EU wegzujagen, die zusammen mit dem griechischen Kapital die Mehrheit des Volkes und die Zukunft des Landes und des Volkes zu vernichten wollen.

Gegen die gerechte Wut des Volkes, die die Straßen vieler Städten überschwemmt hat, wurde nochmals die zahlreichen Provokations-, Untergrabungs-, Disorientierungs- und Terrorisierungsmechanismen mobilisiert, um offenbar das Volk zu erschrecken und den enormen Fluss der Wut und des Kampfes zu stopen. Neben der misslungenen und schon seit mehreren Monaten geführten Propagandafeldzug der Massenmedien, parallel zu den Drohungen und den Empfehlungen für bürgerliche Rechtmäßigkeit, gleichzeitig mit der einmaligen Polizeigewalt wurde die Untergrabung der massiven Proteste von völlig fremd zu ihren Geist Handlungen mobilisiert und verwendet. Immer wenn das Volk und die Arbeiter im Vordergrund zu kommen und ihr Leben in den eigenen Händen zu nehmen versuchen, immer wenn sie von der politischen Vormundschaft der Bourgoisie-Parteien zu entkommen versuchen und unabhängig von ihnen ihre Interessen und Rechte verteidigen wollen, Kräfte und Handlungen -„blinde“ oder provokatorische- helfen und retten die Bourgoisie, die Regierung und das Status quo. Die Regierung und die Medien nutzen schon brutal den tragischen Tod drei Menschen, um die Einmütigkeit zu inszenieren.

Sie werden es nicht schaffen! Die Arbeiter und die Jugend werden -ihre Mobilisierungen schützend- ihren Kampf, ihre Streiks und ihre Demonstrationen fortführen und ausweiten. Sie werden von Provokationen nicht disorientiert, sie werden sich der Einladung zur nationalen Einmütigkeit und zur angeblichen Normalität nicht beugen, sie werden vor dem Rat der Parteivorsitzenden nicht kriechen. Sie werden ihren Kampf ausweiten, die barbarischen Massnahmen und die Politik der Regierung, des IWF und der EU zu stürzen.

Millionen Griechen gegen den IWF und die EU

Hunderttausende Griechen Arbeiter, Angestellte in der Privatwirtschaft und Beamten, Arbeitslose, Jugendliche, Rentner, Emigranten, Kleinhändler usw., haben am Mittwoch den 5. Mai gestreikt und die Straßen der griechischen Städten überschwemmt. Seit mehreren Jahrzenten gab es nicht so massiven und wütenden Demonstrationen. Die Demonstration in Athen war sehr massiv und hat mehrere Stunden trotz der andauernden Polizeiangriffe gedauert. Große Demonstrationen haben auch in Thessaloniki, Patras, Ioannina, Larissa, Volos, auf vielen agäischen und ionischen Inseln und in allen grossen Städten auf Kreta. Auf diese Weise wurde es allen klar, dass die überwältigende Mehrheit des griechischen Volkes gegen das Maßnahmenpaket ist, dass die Regierung in Zusammenarbeit mit dem IWF und die EZB ergriffen hat und es ist entschlossen zu kämpfen dieses Maßnahmenpaket zu stürzen.

Das übereinkommende mit dem IWF und der EU Maßnahmenpaket der Regierung von PASOK sieht folgendes vor: enorme Lohnkürzungen der Beamten sowie Entlassungen Tausender von ihnen; Rentenkürzungen; Entlassungen und schlechterer Kündigungsschutz in der Privatwirtschaft; Minderung der Abfindungen; Abschaffung der Tarifverträge; die Mehrwertsteuer wird um zwei Prozent erhöht; die öffentlichen Ausgaben müssen abgekürzt werden und zwar im Gesundheits-, Erziehungswesen und in der Sozialfürsorge; Privatisierungen usw. In Wirklichkeit ist das alles eine schreckliche Politik sozialer Barbarei und ein Rückkehr Griechenlands in die Vergangenheit der großen Armut, Arbeitslosigkeit und Elend für die Mehrheit der Bevölkerung. Die Maßnahmen sollen die Spekulanten Verleiher Griechenlands retten, die Arbeitskraft sehr billig gestalten, um raubgierige Auslandsinvestitionen anzuziehen, sie sollen einen großen Teil des Reichtums des Landes ausverkaufen und die unermessliche Profite der einheimischen Elite-Bourgeoisie schützen. Mit diesen Maßnahmen übergibt Griechenland alles dem imperialistischen Kapital und seinen Organisationen, wird offiziell zu einer ökonomischen Kolonie der fremden Räuber und das Volk wird der fremden ökonomischen Hilfe und den Befehlen des IWF und der europäischen Imperialisten unterworfen.

Das alles ist nicht über Nacht passiert. Schon seit Ende der 80ger Jahre, seit der EU-Mitgliedschaft Griechenlands (ex-EG), wurde ihr Ökonomie den Direktiven der europäischen Monopole unterworfen und von den Multinationalen und dem europäischen Kapital geplündert -mehr als in der Vergangenheit. Allmählich wurden die Landwirtschaft, die Leichtindustrie und die Produktionsstruktur desorganisiert. Die Exporte brachen zusammen und die Inlandsproduktion wurde durch die zunehmenden Importen ersetzt. Der Eintritt Griechenlands in die Eurozone und dessen Schwäche eine autonome Währungs- und Finanzpolitik zu betreiben hatten die Situation zunehmend verschlechtert. Griechenland, wie auch andere arme Länder Europas, wurden die besten Kunden der deutschen und französischen Exporte, die durch die Exportprämie und die Krediterweiterung der privaten Haushalte profitierten. In Griechenland scheiterte das Modell der Elite-Bourgeoisie, das Land zu einem Land der Dienstleistungen und des Tourismus umzuwandeln, Opfer des fremden Kapitals und der Auswirkungen der internationalen wirtschaftlichen kapitalistischen Krise.

Die Schuldenkrise in Griechenland ist Teil und Vorwort einer allgemeinen Wirtschaftskrise, die schon in den südlichen Ländern ausbricht, als Ergebnis des Krieges der Kapitalen, der Währungen, der Parität und der Politiken unter den imperialistischen Mächten; als Ergebnis des Konkurrenzen, der aus der tiefen kapitalistischen Krise wütet und aus der damit verbundenen Bemühungen jedes Imperialisten den anderen die schweren Folgen der Krise aufzubürden. Der Angriff der sogenannten Spekulanten gegen Griechenland -mit dem Ziel dessen Wirtschaft ins Bankrott zu führen- bezweckte hauptsächlich die Untergrabung des Euros und den Zusammenhalt der Eurozone auf Probe zu stellen. Griechenland wurde als das schwache Bindeglied ausgewählt und der Angriff wird fortgeführt. Vielmehr weil es sich bewiesen hat, dass die Eurozone ein merkwürdiger Fall ist mit ernsten Problemen, Widersprüchen und nationalen Konkurrenzen die sich vermehren und die Politik-Koordination hindern.

Ganz unabhängig von dem Verlauf des Euros und der internationalen Krise ist es sehr wichtig betonnt zu werden, dass nur der Kampf der Arbeiter für den Sturz der barbarischen Politiken Hoffnung bringen kann. Die Arbeiter in Griechenland sind an diesen Tagen auf den Straßen gegen die polizeiliche Terrorisierung und die Provokationen der Mechanismen, die die Demonstranten abschrecken wollen. Die Arbeiter in Griechenland versuchen ihre Demonstrationen von der Polizei sowie von der blinden Gewalt derjenigen, die für den Tod drei Bankangestellten verantwortlich sind, zu schützen. Sie senden Gruß internationaler Klassensolidarität und rufen die Arbeiter besonders in Europa auf sich zu erheben und gegen die Schlichtheit, die in vielen EU-Ländern auferlegt wird, zu kämpfen.

Die Arbeiter, Arbeitslosen, Emigranten, Jugendlichen und Rentner kämpfen den IWF und die EZB zu vertreiben, die Maßnahmen der PASOK-Regierung zu stürzen. Sie kämpfen für den Austritt Griechenlands aus der EU. Sie müssen für ein unabhängiges und volksdemokratisches Griechenland kämpfen, den einzigen Ausweg von der einheimischen kapitalistischen Bourgeoisie, die verantwortlich für die Lage der Wirtschaft und der Gesellschaft ist.

Millions of Greeks against the IMF and the European Union

Hundreds of thousands of workers in the private and public sector, unemployed, youth, pensioners, migrants, and small owners flooded the streets all over Greece, on Wednesday May 5th, general strike day. The country hasn’t witnessed such large and angry demonstrations for decades. The rally in Athens was huge and lasted for many hours despite the successive police and riot police attacks. Mass demonstrations also took place in Thessaloniki, Patra, Ioannina, Larisa, Volos, in the Aegean islands and the big cities of Crete island. It became obvious that the overwhelming majority of the Greek people are against the measures that the government took in collaboration with the IMF, the European Union and the European Central Bank, and they are determined to struggle and overthrow these measures.

The package of measures agreed by the social-democrat government and the IMF and the EU include: for public sector workers, big salary cuts and thousands of layoffs and pension cuts; in private sector, layoffs, reduction of severance pay, abolition of collective contracts, significant increase in indirect taxes (VAT increase to 23%), big cuts in public funding for health care, education and social welfare, privatizations etc. In fact it is a horrible policy of social barbarity that returns Greece to previous times of widespread poverty, unemployment and misery. The objective of these measures is to save the speculators and creditors of the country; to make the workforce very cheap in order to attract foreign rapacious investments; to sell out natural resources and protect the immeasurable riches of the local elite-bourgeoisie. With these measures Greece is being totally handed over to the foreign imperialist capital and its institutions. Greece has been turned—officially--into an economic colony of foreign robbers and its people are subjugated to foreign economic bail out and the directives of IMF and the European imperialists.

This development required many years to take place. Through the participation of Greece in the European Union (former EEC) since the early ’80s, its economy was increasingly subjugated to the directives of the European monopolies and captured by the multinational corporations and the European capital to a greater extent than earlier. Gradually the agrarian sector was devastated along with manufacturing, light industry and the entire industrial productive structure. Greek export sectors collapsed, and internal production was replaced with the increase of importations. The situation significantly worsened after the country joined the Euro-zone and could no longer exercise an autonomous monetary and exchange policy. Greece, like other countries on the European periphery, became the best customers of the German-French export goods, which were subsidized through government loaning and credit expansion in private households. The plans of the local elite-bourgeoisie to turn Greece into a country of services and tourism resulted in bankruptcy. The country became completely subject to predatory foreign capital, and faced the full onslaught of the international economic capitalist crisis.

The debt crisis in Greece is part and a prologue of a more general crisis that has already erupted in the economies of the European South as a result of the war of capitals, currency, parities and policies among the imperialist powers. This rivalry is raging due to the deep capitalist crisis and the subsequent attempt from each one to put its heavy burden to the other. The attack of predatory speculation on Greek bankrupt sectors took place with main objective to undermine the euro and to test the coherence of the euro-zone. Greece was selected as the weak and defenseless link of this chain and this attack will continue. For it was proved that the euro-zone is a peculiar case with serious problems, contradictions and national rivalries that aggravate and prevent the coordination of policies.

Regardless of the course of the euro and the international economic crisis, what matters is that only the struggle of the workers to overthrow these brutal measures can bring hope. These days, the Greek workers are in the streets against the police repression and the provocations organized by centers that wish to intimidate the demonstrators. They try to safeguard their demonstrations from the police attacks and from the blind violence of those who are responsible for the death of the three bank workers. They convey an international and class solidarity message and particularly call on the workers in Europe to rise up and struggle against the austerity measures decided by the commanders of the European Union.

The Greek workers, unemployed, migrants, youth and elder people are fighting to oust the IMF and the European Central Bank and to overthrow the measures that were succumbed to by the Papandreou government. They fight to get the country out of the European Union. They must fight for an independent and socialist Greece, the only way out against the local capitalist class that has brought the economy and the society to this situation.
