STOP THE PERSECUTIONS OF THE TURKISH ACTIVISTS!

SOLIDARITY TO THE TURKISH ACTIVISTS!

Turkish democrat activists, migrants in Germany, became the target of a state-terrorist attack. Riot police forces of the German imperialism raided houses and migrant associations’ offices and arrested Turkish activists in 8 different cities in Germany. They were transferred and detained in police stations on the 5th of December 2007. They were accused of being members and supporters of TKP/ML and they were about to go on trial.
This attack is part of the overall attack of the imperialist against the working class and the people aiming to intimidate them and smash their resistance.
Workers’ and people’s struggle, among them are the Turkish activists is just. They are struggling against the capitalist-imperialist barbarism and their war raids the slaughter the people of the world.
We, the undersigned, participants of the International Seminar on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of October Revolution, in Athens, Greece, 8-9/12/2007, condemn the violent state-terrorist attack of the German police against the Turkish activists.

Message of Solidarity

from CPG (m-l) to the conference that will be held in Rome in the 10th of November on the 90th anniversary of October Revolution by CARC and other organizations

Dear comrades,

On behalf of CPG (m-l) we would like to express our warmest revolutionary greetings to you and the participants of your conference. Your initiative to celebrate the 90th anniversary of October Revolution is very significant, particularly during this period that the global reaction is trying to criminalize everyone that claims to be communist or even uphold the communist ideas. They are trying to criminalize every attempt of the working class and the people to resist and organize their struggle against the attack of the capitalist-imperialist system across the word; against the plunder of the imperialists and their wars, against the attempt of the capitalist system to abolish the people’s democratic rights –with the pretext of “terrorism”- and gains achieved through long and bloody struggles. The global reaction wishes to delete from people’s memory the gains and the achievements of the communist movement, to slander their struggle and make them believe that capitalism is a one way path.

Whatever they do, it’s impossible to delete history. October Revolution did happen. And the working class managed to establish its state and changed the history of mankind. For, class struggle had been conducted since the first moment that exploitation and oppression were forced upon the wretched of this earth. But October was the first time that it was proved that the working class can seize power and create a new society without exploitation. It inspired the working class and the people across the world and its impact shook the foundations of the whole planet.

Despite the fact it was defeated –not by an external enemy but from the shortcomings and the contradictions the very socialist system had generated and didn’t manage to solve correctly- by the revisionists and capitalism was restored in the Soviet Union and the eastern countries and despite the attempt of Mao and the Great Proletariat Cultural Revolution to answer the same questions and didn’t manage to win, the significance of October revolution remains valuable for the working class and the people across the world.

The first circle closed with the collapse of the revisionist regimes but it was written in the consciousness of billions workers that this first attempt was possible and that its failure wasn’t inevitable; it was simply an incomplete attempt and it required constant confirmation of the worker rule.

October Revolution inspires and guides the revolutionary struggles in countries like Nepal, Philippines, and India etc. It inspires and guides the struggles of the working class and the people against the offensive of the capitalist-imperialist system to abolish gains and democratic rights. The communists have a duty to support these revolutionary attempts in these countries and these struggles in the capitalist metropolises and through class struggle, each in their own country to pave the way for the communist movement and the proletarian revolution in the 21st century.

Long Live October Revolution!

Long Live Internationalist Solidarity!

Free Jose Maria Sison!

by Intl Committee DEFEND

The International Committee Defend condemns in the strongest terms the unjust arrest this morning, August 28, of Filipino political exile Prof. Jose Maria Sison, by the Dutch Police, on trumped-up charges, and the simultaneous police raids in Utrecht on several houses of Filipinos, including the NDF International Information Office. The arrest of Professor Sison came after the Philippine Supreme Court dismissed several politically-motivated cases filed against him and several others. The case filed against him by the Dutch police are similarly politically-motivated and must be dismissed immediately.

Also, the European Court of the First Instance in Luxemburg on July 11, annulled the inclusion of Professor Sison in the European Council’s ‘terrorist’ listing because the Council of the European Union failed to give a valid reason for his inclusion.

Professor Sison or Joma, was arrested when he reported to the Utrecht police after he got an invitation from them supposedly about new information on the complaint he filed in 2001.

According to Sison’s lawyer who accompanied him to the police station, Sison was asked to go to a room supposedly to be asked questions. And after he was alone in the room he was whisked away without the knowledge of his lawyer, to the National Penitentiary in Scheveningen in The Hague where he is now under detention.

International Committee Defend strongly denounces the ‘Gestapo-style’ manner in which the Dutch police arrested Professor Sison and conducted the raids. The police used a ruse to take Sison into custody. Also during the raids, the raiding team in some cases, did not show any search warrant and forced their entry into the houses by breaking the doors even if people were inside. In some of the houses that were raided, only minors were present.

Julie Sison, wife of Sison, said at around 9:30 am, the Dutch police in plainclothes did not even ring or knock, but instead broke down their front door. She was reportedly asked to sit in one corner of their house while the police carted away their computers, documents, CDs, and other files. The search lasted until early evening.

Simultaneous with Joma’s arrest and the search on his house, the NDF International Information Office and several other houses of Filipinos in Utrecht, were raided. The Dutch police confiscated computers, laptops, papers, diskettes, CD Roms, and DVDs.

The arrest of Professor Sison and the searches in several Filipino houses are clearly politically-motivated. EU envoy Javier Solana has said that the terrorist tag on the CPP, NPA and Professor Sison would be dropped if they capitulate.

The Philippines, Dutch and US are using judicial proceedings to put political pressure on the NDFP to surrender to the Manila government.

Committee Defend will hold the Dutch government accountable for any harm that may happen to Professor Sison, including rendition to any country outside the Netherlands, while under their custody.

Committee Defend announces that there will be protest mobilizations in the Philippines, Canada, US, Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and several countries in Europe.

IMMEDIATELY RELEASE PROF. JOSE MARIA SISON!

Prof. Jose Maria Sison arrested by the Dutch Police

Prof. Jose Maria Sison, Chairperson of the International League of Peoples Struggle (ILPS) was illegally arrested by the Dutch Police. Prof. Sison was arrested despite the Supreme Court decision last July 2007 that dismissed as invalid the charge of rebellion and the hundreds of folders of supposed evidence against Prof. Sison and 50 other individuals.

We also received reports that houses and offices of Filipino leaders living in the Netherlands were searched and personal computers were confiscated by Dutch police.

These actions of the Dutch police is condemnable.

In light of this, it is necessary to conduct immediate protest actions and send letter protest to the Netherlands Embassy/Consulate and the Philippine Embassy/Consulate in your areas to denounce and condemn the illegal arrest and attack on the basic human rights of Prof. Sison and other Filipino leaders in the Netherlands.

ILPS Condemns the Unjust Arrest of Binali Soydan

By Prof. Jose Maria Sison
Chairperson, International Coordinating Committee
International League of Peoples' Struggle
8 July 2007

The International League of Peoples' Struggle (ILPS) condemns in the strongest terms the arrest and detention on 19 June 2007 by the German authorities of Binali Soydan, a refugee persecuted by the fascist Turkish state. Soydan was treacherously arrested while on his way to the German Aliens Police to apply for extension of his residence permit.

The German government took this patently unjust action upon the request of the Turkish government for the extradition of Soydan. This action exposes the immense hypocrisy of the German government which talks about democracy while collaborating with the very undemocratic Turkish state in persecuting progressives like Binali Soydan who are fighting for the democratic rights of the people..

In Turkey, anyone who opposes the state is persecuted. Anyone who opposes the state terrorism of the Turkish state is called a terrorist. This fascist government has been reprimanded by the European Court of Human Rights for many cases of human rights violations.

Binali Soydan faces certain arrest and persecution if he is sent back by the German authorities to Turkey. He faces the possibility of being subjected to torture, isolation and other inhumane treatment that prisoners of conscience suffer in the hands of the fascist Turkish state.

Binali Soydan is a progressive and a democrat. He came to Germany as a refugee who suffered from persecution by the Turkish regime. He was previously imprisoned and tortured while in detention for opposing the fascist regime in Turkey.

For many years now, European governments have been using the so-called war on terror to persecute progressive emigrees in Europe who are fighting for democracy and social reforms in their home countries. They use the terrorist tag on leaders and members of liberation movements as license to violate their elementary human rights. These European governments thus expose their extreme duplicity and extraordinary hypocrisy.

We call on all progressive and democratic organizations and all people of good will to condemn the unjust arrest and detention of Binali Soydan and call for his immediate release. We call on all member organizations of ILPS to support all actions that may be taken to secure the immediate and unconditional release of Binali Soydan

CPG (m-l) statement on anti-missile shield

CPG (m-l) statement

Criminal Bush: persona non grata!
Oust the USA from the Balkans!
No to the pro-war anti-missile shield!

The global criminal Bush’ tour in the Balkans after his visit to Poland and Czekia, these days, is part of a clearly war move and it forebodes new sufferings for the peoples of the Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Bush is coming to declare the official re-mapping out of the Balkan borders through the secession plan of Kosovo; to support the US-subordinated forces in Albania, FYROM and Bulgaria; to launch a new period of strong US intervention in the Balkan affairs and to incite the local chauvinisms. The intervening US policy in the Balkans, the establishment of military bases and the plans for Balkan countries to join NATO, are part of their aspiration for the consolidation of the US hegemony in Europe; the control of the energy roads and in the plans for a cold and in case it would be necessary fir a hot period of confrontation with the Russian influence and policy.
This dangerous policy for the peace and the common future of the Balkan peoples is part of Washington’s broader aggressive projects which recently have escalated with the decision to locate missiles and radar systems in Poland and Czekia using the ridiculous pretext of facing the dangers of the North Korea’s and Iran’s … missile projects. In fact this decision aims to Russia and the peace in Europe.
The Greek government has undertaken serious responsibilities with the political alignment with the pro-war US plans because it exposes our country and people to grave danger. It consents with the dangerous policy of re-mapping out the Balkan borders, it submits to the plans for NATO expansion in the Balkans and it is ready to succumb to the US extortions for the so called anti-missile shield.
CPG (m-l) calls all the anti-imperialist and pro-peace popular forces to stay in militant alert and mobilization to foil the way to the new pro-war US plans. To strengthen the struggle against the presence of the US military bases in the country and against its participation in NATO and imperialist wars. It calls for the formation of a common anti-war, anti-imperialist front pf the Balkan peoples against this intervening policy. It points out the necessity for the peoples of Europe to rise against the plans for location of the anti-missile shield and to organize an independent, militant and mass movement against the European governments and the EU which actually follow the same pro-war and imperialist policy.

On the new imperialist project (anti-missile system in Europe)

The US plans

The US imperialist’s plans are to proceed in installing a modern anti-missile system, which will include missile rows, in Poland and a radar system in Czekia. In countries where according to Ramsfeld, the new-European “willing” partners are.
The US initiative has caused the angry reaction of Russia. The head of Russia’s missile defense, General Nicolay Solochov threatened to turn the Russian weapons against Poland and Czekia in case they took in the US settlements.
Putin, the Russian president, made some severe statements, recently in Germany on the so called unipolar US practice.
The new US imperialist initiative is a sequence – and a reiteration to every direction – of the expanding NATO policy to the East. The US tries to establish, in a great region of Eastern Europe, a huge US base with the apparent objective to encircle Russia from the West. In the same direction are included the policies like the establishment of new military bases in Rumania and Bulgaria, the constant pressure for increasing military expenses and buying new arsenal systems, airplanes and other material by their allies. It is also the upgrade of the constant attempt to expand NATO, as a US arm in the direction of their expressed policy for global domination.
The problems, the US face in Iraq, the foiling of their plans for expansion of their intervention in the M. East is the result of the Iraqi Resistance; the coherence problems in the Western block, the more “extraverted” policy of Russia and their desire to seek a way out for their imperialist plans, strengthen the direction of transferring the confrontation in the core of Europe, right next to the Russian border. This is a very serious development.
With the project of the so called “anti-missile protection”, they aggravate dangerously the inter-imperialist rivalry and they try to “secure” as many allies as possible. They wish to put pressure to the unwilling that emerged form the period of their invasion on Iraq to collaborate.
The fear and the embarrassment in Europe were obvious from the moment the US “anti-missile shield” plans started getting concrete. For instance, Germany’s reaction was obvious. Germany understands that the confrontation between USA and Russia has been transferred at its borders.
Meanwhile the US initiative proceeded to bilateral agreements with the countries that Germany considers its backyard for its own imperialist aspiration.
A new arming rally is in process. USA, France and Britain have already decided to modernize their nuclear arsenal.

Uncompromising struggle against imperialism

We live in the era in which a fierce rivalry has broken out; imperialist interventions, wars, devastation of economic formations, countries and nations being fragmented, are “common phenomena”. This is the reality we’re experiencing, this where the capitalism of the imperialist stage drives the world to – and certainly not in getting closer, in unity, co-operation, peace, progress and democracy. This will the future if we let it happen…
The future of the peoples cannot rely on the negotiation with the imperialists for the position and the role of the various subdued bourgeois cliques. It lies on the relentless, uncompromising struggle against imperialism and against every corrupted clique that oppresses, exploits and bargains the peoples and the blood of their children with the imperialists.
Imperialism exists; the confrontation is being aggravated and oppresses our lives. We must face it.

Press statement of CPG (m-l) student’s youth, Thessaloniki

The provocative and revengeful imprisonment of a student of the Polytechnic campus in Thessaloniki, using as a pretext the events in front of the Aristotelion University in Thessaloniki (Philosophy campus, who was accused with serious, unsubstantial charges, is part of the revanchist government policy and the police-court mechanisms against the victorious students’ movement. It was a movement that stirred up the whole majority of society during the last months and managed to foil, in a significant degree, the government’s plant to privatize education. In the same direction are included the police operations to students’ homes, the threats for the abolishment of the campuses haven and the general attempt to terrorize and slander the fighting students with the collaboration of the media.
The party students’ organization of CPG (m-l) calls for the immediate formation of a broad solidarity front of students, workers and democrat citizens which will demand the immediate release of the student and the withdrawal of every unsubstantial charge. The leading force of this movement should be the mass General Assemblies of students across the country. This movement must and can defend the mass collective action and unity and it should isolate the practices the objectively subserve the repression forces in their attempt to terrorize the students’ movement.

7/5/2007

On early Saturday morning, May 5th, and while two different parties were held in the Polytechnic campus, certain clashes were taking place in a nearby street (Ethnikis Aminis) between the police and some unknown people.
A couple hours later (at approximately 07.00 in the morning) 15 people were presented to the Thessaloniki Police Headquarters and five of them were arrested. Two of them are facing serious charges.
One of these two was among the 49 arrested students who were proved innocent in the events of March the 8th. (mass police arrests of students under unsubstantial charges which were proven false in the court and the policemen who were witnesses were persecuted by the court).
The student was arrested far from the place where the clashes took place and he was accused only after the police found out that he was on the 49 arrested students. The evidence they used was the fact that he was wearing green shoes (!!!) as someone who participates in the clashes was wearing. Naturally after the police searched him and his house no evidence to condemn him was found.
The solidarity movement reacted immediately with protests, rallies and demonstrations.

ARRY FORWARD THE HEROIC ANTI-IMPERIALIST TRADITIONS OF 1857!! HAIL

CELEBRATE THE OCCASION ON A GRAND SCALE FURTHER DEVELOPING THE
ANT-IMPERIALIST TRADITIONS OF OUR COUNTRY!!!

---- CALL OF THE CPI (MAOIST)

Press Release: May 5, 2007

Exactly 150 years ago on May 10th the first salvo of this great
rebellion was fired. What started as a mutiny of the Indian soldiers
soon turned into a prairie fire and became a great people's war. This
people's war engulfed large parts of India embracing Oudh, Rohilkhand,
Bundelkhand, Sagar, Narmada, Nagpur, Hyderabad, many districts of
Bihar, Agra, Meerut, Punjab, Delhi, parts of Bengal and other places.
In magnitude, depth, as also in significance, this rebellion was
unparalleled in the long history of both independent and colonial
India. Primarily anti-colonial, it was at the same time directed
against the feudal forces. It was the soldiers of Meerut who set the
ball rolling on the 10th of May. Mutinies followed in several stations
of the north. In Bundelkhand, Jhansi took the lead. In many areas,
British army officials were attacked and killed. At Jhansi, the rebel
soldiers released all prisoners.

But this no longer remained a revolt of the armed forces. It spread to
the entire peasantry and artisans. A few weeks after the Revolt began,
British rule was virtually wiped out in north India. In all cases of
rural uprising, violence was directed against those institutions of
power with which they interacted directly and immediately, namely
tehsils and thanas. Thanas and tahsils were attacked, records
destroyed and government officials driven out. All vestiges of
colonial rule were in the process eliminated. While confiscating the
ill-gotten property was the principal form by which people asserted
their power, arming themselves was the principal means by which they
did so. The weapons chosen were anything that was available from
matchlocks, spears, scythes, and iron-bound lathis, axes, etc to
weapons seized from the British. British political power and that of
their lackeys were practically demolished over entire Northern India.

The revolutionaries set up their own `Court of Administration' for an
independent India free from foreign control. It was set up with
representatives from soldiers and civilians with two representatives
each from the infantry, cavalry and infantry and four from the
civilians. Each of these representatives was elected by majority vote
from their own constituencies. This smaller body elected a president
and a vice-president by a majority vote. This supreme body acted in a
judicial capacity and also established different courts for discharge
of judicial duties. Taking of bribes and other malpractices were
firmly suppressed. The body took upon itself the task of
administration of the land, maintenance of peace and order in the
captured territories, collection of loans from the mahajans and the
conduct of war. The emperor exercised no control over these affairs.

Not only did the militant masses fight the British and their lackeys
they also established a new power in a rudimentary form. Such is the
heroic history of this great uprising, which is as relevant today as
it was over 150 years back. The direct British colonial rule has been
replaced by the neo-colonial rule of the imperialists. The country
continues being robbed through indirect means ever since the so-called
independence of 1947. This robbery has increased phenomenally ever
since the implementation of the policies of imperialist globalization
in the country. The loot of our country today by the imperialists and
their lackeys has reached gigantic proportions. Nothing but another
Great War for Indian Independence can save this country from total
devastation. On this occasion of this 150th Anniversary it is only
such a message that must be sent to the vast masses of our motherland.
It must be shown that if the masses revolt it is possible to seize
power and smash the rule of the robbers, both Indian and foreign.

Today, while all establishment parliamentary parties are celebrating
the event they are primarily doing so to hide their outright betrayal
of the country and its people to the imperialists, particularly the
US. While taking up a mass campaign we must expose their hypocrisy and
false pretenses. We must call on the masses to continue in the
revolutionary traditions of 1857 and also Bhagat Singh whose birth
centenary is being celebrated this year. Both represent the great
anti-imperialist and patriotic traditions of the masses of our country
which is being taken forward by the Maoists and other democratic and
revolutionary forces of the country.

Let us turn this 150th year of the historic 1857 uprising and Bhagat
Singh birth centenary into a great festival of revolt in all parts of
the country. Let us build this anti-imperialist tempo in every nook
and corner of the country; starting from May 10th and culminating in
huge actions/meetings/celebrations on Sept.28, the birth centenary day
of Bhagat Singh.

May First 2007 Message of the International League of Peoples' Struggle

By Jose Maria Sison
Chairperson, ILPS International Coordinating Committee
1 May 2007

The International League of Peoples' Struggle extends its most militant greetings to the workers and other toiling people of the world on the occasion of International Workers' Day.

We commemorate the first May Day in 1887 when hundreds of thousands of workers struck in every major American city calling for an 8-hour workday. In Chicago, the police brutally attacked the strikers and demonstrators. A rally in Haymarket Square to protest the police brutality was also attacked. A number of labor leaders were framed on trumped up charges and hanged while others were thrown in prison.

One hundred twenty years later, the workers still suffer from the barbarities of capitalism. They have to struggle to achieve their own emancipation and the emancipation of mankind.

May 1 has become a symbol of the struggle for the emancipation of the working class from all forms of exploitation and oppression under capitalism.

The workers and other toiling people of the world, especially those in the underdeveloped countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America are subjected not only to the overt violence of the bourgeois state; they suffer even more from the daily violence of the exploitative and oppressive system of capitalism.

More than half the world - nearly three billion people - live on less than two dollars a day.

The GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the poorest 48 nations (i.e. a quarter of the world's countries) is less than the wealth of the world's three richest people combined.

Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names.

The poorer the country, the more likely it is that debt repayments are being extracted directly from people who neither contracted the loans nor received any of the money. The underdeveloped world now spends $13 on debt repayment for every $1 it receives in grants.

20% of the population in the developed nations consume 86% of the world's goods.

A few hundred millionaires now own as much wealth as the world's poorest 2.5 billion people.

Approximately 790 million people in the developing world are still chronically undernourished, almost two-thirds of whom reside in Asia and the Pacific.

According to UNICEF, 30,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they "die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world." That is around 11 million children a year.

It is very ironic that the working people who are responsible for creating the wealth in the world are confined to a life of misery and deprivation.

In the imperialist countries, the workers suffer from low wages, high unemployment and job insecurity. Their democratic right to form unions and to strike are restricted. The workers in the underdeveloped world are even more exploited and oppressed.

More than ever there is a need for struggle and resistance. The proletariat and other working people in the imperialist countries are rising up to fight for their rights. The peoples in the oppressed countries are fighting for democracy, social justice and national liberation. ILPS reaffirms its commitment to exert all efforts in support of the struggle of the workers and other toiling masses to build a new and better world free from the exploitation and oppression of imperialism and all forms of reaction.

Long live the workers and oppressed peoples of the world!
Advance the struggle for democracy, national liberation and social emancipation!
Long live international solidarity!

Students’ struggle brought the first victory and goes on for the final ruin of the government’s projects

Greece

The reform of the Constitution, attempted the recent period in the Greek parliament by the government of New Democracy (centre-rightist) with the collaboration of PASOK (social-democrat), is part of the attack by the capital’s forces against the workers, the youth, the interests of people’s toiling majority and the democrat and social gains.
The constitutional reform concerns certain subjects of decisive significance since they were the result of our people’s struggle and gains for decades.
It concerns:
Article 16. It concerns the FREE PUBLIC EDUCATION which is the state’s commitment for all education stages. The abolition-reform of this article opens the way for the abolition of the right to education of the people, the working class and the youth. It is also connected with the abolition to professional and democratic rights of the youth and the people. It opens the way for the complete privatization of Education and the establishment of private Universities.
Article 24. It concerns the declassification of forest land which becomes prey to the constructive capital, land-grabbers and temporizers of every kind. Practically it aims at turning large forest land to building ground bearing great danger for the environment.
Article 103. It concerns the abolishment of permanence of public service employees (they cannot be fired). It is the overthrow of the labor relations and being a hostage of the workers and the working class in the capital’s hands.

The required process is the follow:
At first we should clarify that a referendum is not required for the reform of the constitution articles.
It requires the majority of Parliament Members, 3/5 of the current parliament – that is 180 PM – in order to reform the articles by the simple majority of the next parliament (government) – only 151 PM. If in this parliament the number of PM who will vote for the reform of the article 16 is less than 180 then in the new parliament that will try to reform the constitution the number of PM that is required should be more than 180.
Therefore it is important to develop such a movement that will include all the people and it will cause such political problems to both parties ND and PASOK in order to make it impossible to reach this majority and to sharpen the contradictions within the bourgeoisie. It is also important to create the conditions for the building up and the existence of a movement that will be able to defend people’s gains, to politicize even more in its confrontation and be able to win.
The initial plans of the ND government – with the collaboration of PASOK – were to vote for the new law for the Universities and the reform of the article 16 during summer. This changed after the great mobilization of the students and it was postponed for October. However it was followed by the great –also- strike of teachers that lasted six weeks and the students in high schools who sat in their schools. For reasons concerning the shortcomings of the movement and the balance of power within the teachers’ sector the strike and the sitting in the high schools “stopped” – sold out- the moment that this movement was tending to include the whole education section (to gain all education features). We believe it was not by chance. Once again – with PASOK’s collaboration – the vote for the reform was postponed for January.
Despite the blackmail for losing the semester and the exams and despite the fact that time was barely enough, almost every University school went on strike and sitting in right after the Christmas holidays and the rallies in January the 10th were massive ones all over Greece. Things went on the same way. All the more university schools, via the decisions of student’s unions’ general assemblies, were seized and continue week after week. Certain initiatives have been established trying to put forth this issue to trade unions, parents’ associations and neighborhoods. They try to turn it from an issue of the education sector to the case of all people, who is the only guarantee for the final victory.
It’s almost one month since the students started their struggle and the first victory came. PASOK, under the movement’s pressure withdrew from the constitutional reform and the government is left alone and with its back to the wall. The students though demand full victory with final withdrawal of every project and law of the government and they continue their struggle unflaggingly. More than 300 university schools are on strike and sit in, all over the country, demonstrations are organized with thousands participants and open debates to inform the people about what is going on. An all-education and all-people front is being organized. The struggle goes on.

STRUGGLE TO RESIST THE GOVERNMENT’S REACTIONARY EDUCATION POLICY.

More than 200 university students’ unions, all over Greece are on strike. And the list is growing. The students through the decisions of their general assemblies decided to go on strike in order to oppose the new law concerning universities. They are opposing the reactionary education policy of the government. On Thursday, in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patra, Chania and Heraklio and other cities there were mass demonstrations against the law.
The students were chanting slogans against the privatization of universities, the abolishment of the asylum and the criminalization of students’ struggle. They also demanded to find jobs once they finished their studies.
Despite the police brutality and the assaults against the demonstrators in Athens, Chania and Xanthi, the students continue their struggle.
The solidarity to students’ movement is necessary to grow with the support of the workers and toilers.
The students’ movement can win this battle.

The struggle goes on

For more than a month and across Greece the students’ mobilization has been developing. A student’s movement that was the sequence of the student’s uprising in May-June. Every day in many university schools general assemblies are organized and all the more university schools decide for sitting in. The seized schools are more than 350 across the country. Every week mass rallies are organized in Athens and Thessaloniki and in other cities as well with thousands of people participating and demonstrating against the reform in education -privatization and abolishment of students’ and people’s rights and gains- attempted by the government through the reform of the article 16 of the constitution.

The article 16 of the constitution established the state’s commitment to provide public and free education to all. Its reform will allow the establishment of private universities and will change the function of the public ones in which the overwhelming majority of students is studying. In a few words, public universities due to the antagonism with the private ones and according to the free market criteria will adopt criteria of free enterprise in their function, that is they will impose tuition fees, payment for books etc, (everything that stands in other countries where all these are already happening). Therefore, education from the right of all people will become the privilege of the few, the ones that will have the economic ability to study.
The government has announced its intention, right after the constitutional reform, to put forth for voting in the parliament the new law regarding universities. It is the law that the students’ movement in May-June has opposed and prevented its voting.
The new law, in combination with the reform of article 16 intensifies studies and abolishes a number of rights that our people have struggled for them for decades.
The right to public free education (free books, providing of feeding and housing etc).
The right to work, because the new diploma will have no professional rights and the new employer will become prey in the hands of the employee.
The democratic rights, since they plan to abolish the university asylum (the police and the army cannot enter in the universities) and consequently the prohibition of every free political, trade unionist, social and cultural activity of students.

The student’s movement says No to this University without rights, the university for the few and privileged. They say No every day in their general assemblies and their rallies in the streets.
In the present phase of its development the movement is trying to escalate their struggle through their connection and coordination with the students in high schools, the teachers and the workers in general. Already there have been scheduled meetings, debates, and activities to this direction. Because it is about an issue that concerns the whole society and in order to reach the final victory is required an all people ceaseless struggle.

“EITHER WE CARRY THE LIFE TO THE DEAD STARS OR THE DEATH WILL COME DOWN TO OUR WORLD”*

To All Workers and Oppressed Peoples of the World,

We salute international proletariat, oppressed peoples and nations, sister communist parties, revolutionary parties and organizations, national liberation movements and all patriots who resist against imperialism, fascism and reactionism with the revolutionary spirit of Communism that is glorified by our Party’s 8th Conference!
We celebrate our Party’s foundation’s 35th anniversary by declaring our Party’s 8th Conference that is concluded by the triumph of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism! Our Party’s 8th Conference whose essential agenda was the People’s War, took steps to advance our struggle.
Our Party’s 8th Conference is an important milestone for the People’s War that is executed by our Party which is founded by the leading Comrade İbrahim Kaypakkaya in the year 1972. This is materializing the leaps and advances of our Party that commits the duty of the Turkey part of the struggle for the proletarian world revolution.
(Imperialists) Who supposed to be able to do everything and who believed to rule the world as they wish until yesterday, is facing with difficulties in believing their disappointment today. The mercilessly struggle and resistance of peoples is rising against the furious imperialist aggressiveness under the leadership of USA.
The 4th and 6th years of the Iraq and Afghanistan occupation turned into a bog that pulls the tyrants to inside by the resistance of the peoples. In tye metropolises of the world, the protest chains of the workers and laborers meet with the rebellions of the “curseds” that grows the fire. The freedom winds of the peoples of Latin America shake the castles of imperialism and carry the important messages about the future’s socialist world unless it blows up the sails of the reformism for today.
The power marches under the leadership of Marxist-Leninist-Maoist parties are climbing to the peaks. The new ones are added to the countries that fires the People’s War. The flag of Maoism is waving in all continents. The ideology, which will be printing the course of the century, is showing itself in the beginning of the process. The fallowing days will witness the growing of this reality.

To the International Communist Movement and sister Communist Parties,
Comrades;

Our Party, TKP/ML, which endeavors to be a honorable component of the International Communist Movement in it’s 35 years old history according to it’s conception of internationalism, decided to continue it’s activities for advancing the International Communist Movement with a great sacrifice and decisiveness in it’s 8th Conference.
Our 8th Conference is clear that the ideological struggle against modern revisionism, Trotskyism, reformism and any kind of opportunism and liquidation can not be divided from the class struggle against imperialism, fascism and any kind of reactionism.
Who can not get any success in liquidating the communist ideology in the material reality of the class struggle with poor propaganda, endeavors to make it invalid by the demagogy of “the change in the conditions” and by degenerating it’s essence with falsifying. Because of this reality, ideological struggle against various bourgeois currents, which use all opportunities, is one of our prior duties.
In practicing this duty, with using the advantages of having the science of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, it is important to underline some key concepts. The first of these concepts is the People’s War which was the main agenda of our Party’s 8th Conference. People’s War strategy, which should be defended as the universal liberation way of the semi-colonial countries, will act as a determinant role in advancing the proletarian world revolution in leaps.
Imperialist-capitalist system, which reached to the 21st century with many difficulties, is dragging humanity to the catastrophe with itself. The only force that can stop this is the revolutions under the leadership of the proletariat. With the stupendous experiences of the last century, oppressed peoples of the world under the leadership of proletariat will give an end to the sovereignty of the cruelty.
For this, communists must execute a struggle that will race with the time!

Down with imperialism, fascism and any kind of reactionism!
Long live Marxism-Leninism-Maoism!
Long live proletarian internationalism!
