STOP THE MASSACRE IN WEST BENGAL!

The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) strongly denounces the mass murderous assault conducted by the security forces and the paramilitary gangs ordered by the West Bengal government against the fighting peasants and adivasis in Lalgarh, West Midnapor. The administration in Kolkata, in collaboration with the federal state and police forces have surrounded villages and rural areas, exercising brutal violence and have launched a huge tide of state terror, arrests, detentions and killings, aiming to wear down the resistance of poor peasants and adivasis in order to implement the land-grabbing policy of their lands by the multinational corporations. They have the impertinence to characterize as terrorists the revolutionaries, who under the leadership of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), fight in the forefront of this just struggle against the pro-imperialist policies of the Kalkota and New Delhi governments.
The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) calls all the progressive people across the world to express their solidarity to the struggle of the poor peasants and adivasis in West Bengal and demand to stop the military assault that has been launched in the most brutal way.

Solidarity Message from the Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) to the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist)

Comrades

We wish to convey our warmest revolutionary greetings and express our strongest solidarity to you and the Nepalese people in this crucial juncture for the development in your country.
The imperialists and expansionists never stopped for a single minute to hinder the revolutionary process and intervene in Nepal using their agents and the subordinate forces in their reactionary plots.
However the Nepalese people with their mass and active participation in the demonstrations, protests and every day clashes with the police forces, against the political coup of President Yadav, who acted under the directions of both Indian and US imperialists, are showing to the rest of the world that the future of Nepal is yet to be written by its people’s struggle.
People’s War was initiated by the CPN (Maoist) in the darkest period for the Communist Movement and in the most adverse context internationally and internally. The resolute factor for the success of People’s War was the support and the active participation of the Nepalese People.
During the last three years the development was both complex and unprecended. The current situation is not a surprise. This deadlock seemed unavoidable and probably delayed. The Revolution Process is a very complex situation where class struggle is extremely intensified, changes forms and the line struggle is an every day issue.
It is the duty of all progressive people, democrats and communists to support the Nepalese people in their struggle to pave the way for their future against imperialists and reactionaries and their puppets.

Long Live International Solidarity!

Communiqué of the ILPS International Coordinating Committee

Written by International Coordinating Committee
SATURDAY, 07 FEBRUARY 2009
6 February 2009

The International Coordinating Committee (ICC) of the International League of Peoples' Struggle (ILPS) held its meeting on February 5-6, 2009 in the Netherlands in the midst of rising resistance of the peoples of the world to the most serious imperialist crisis since the 1930s and shortly after global protests against the brutal Zionist aggression in Gaza.

Chairperson Jose Maria Sison reported on the internal memoranda he issued on various matters since 30 June 2008. These memoranda dealt with the assessment of the Third International Assembly (TIA), the drawing up of a calendar of ILPS activities and campaigns, submission by the commissions of materials for volume II of the book on the TIA, guidelines on the formation of national chapters, suggested amendments on the draft By-Laws and on the plan to hold a forum on the global economic and financial crisis.

The Chairperson also informed the body regarding the statements on major issues and events and messages of solidarity to ILPS forces and friends that he issued in his function as spokesperson of ILPS. Among the major issues and events he addressed were the global capitalist economic and financial crisis, US hypocrisy on the Russian-Georgian conflict, support for the Greek people’s struggle in December 2008 and building solidarity actions against the Zionist attack on Gaza.

The Chairperson announced the publication and availability of Volume I of the Third ILPS International Assembly This contains the major documents approved by the TIA as well as the speeches during the plenary sessions. He urged the ICC and ILPS member-organizations to use the book for propagating the ILPS, enlisting more member-organizations and raising funds.

Vice-Chairperson on Internal Affairs Dr. Carol P. Araullo submitted to the body the reports of 12 commissions and her comments. She cited the different levels of development of the commissions and pointed to the need for other commissions to exert more efforts to strengthen themselves.

Vice-Chairperson for External Affairs Manolis Arkolakis proposed that he and the Vice-Chairperson for Internal Affairs worked closer in relation to expanding the contacts and developing relations with other forces and alliances.

Secretary General Arman Riazi sent a report on the international campaigns against displacement and other campaigns launched by the ILPS.

The Treasurer presented a report on the current status of ILPS finances. He said that there has been a marked improvement in revenues particularly in the payment of membership dues.

The ICC went over the draft By-Laws submitted by the International Coordinating Group (ICG), made amendments and approved it.

ICC members gave reports on ILPS activities in their respective countries. They reported on mobilizations they carried out on major issues such as on the current global economic and financial crisis.

The most exhilarating and memorable part of the two-day meeting were the reports on the global activities of ILPS member organizations. On five continents they were on the front lines in the protests against Israeli attempt to annihilate the people of Gaza, even braving temperatures of -20 degrees in Canada. ICC members also heard a first hand report about the powerful uprising of the people of Greece, actions in the US following the police murder of young Oscar Grant, protests in Brazil against the criminalization of poor peasants struggling for land and the defense of Amazonia and the Indonesian people's movement against land grabbing and palm oil plantations.

ICC members also reported on the efforts and prospects for strengthening and expanding the ILPS organization at various levels through the setting up of national chapters and global region committees.

Commissions of the ILPS presented reports on their activities and future plans. The ICC discussed the reports and made decisions on the recommendations of the commissions and the Vice Chairperson for Internal Affairs. It instructed the General Secretariat to publish the organizational status and calendar of activities of the commissions.

The ICC approved the following resolutions:

Resolution in Support of the Palestinian People

Resolution on the Economic and Financial Crisis

Resolution on the 6th Anniversary of US Imperialist-Led Occupation of Iraq

Resolution in Solidarity for the People's Movements for Peace and Democracy in the Korea Peninsula

Resolution Against the Criminalization of Poverty in Brazil

The ICC resolved to launch three coordinated struggles globally for 2009:

Continue the global resistance against the continuing displacements of peasants, rural folk and other working people from their homes, lands, farms and communities.

Heighten the coordinated struggles against imperialist aggression and wars in Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan and in other parts of the world including the resistance to US military preserve and bases.

Launch a globally coordinated struggle, including support to RESIST, against imperialist exploitation and oppression in the effort of monopoly capital to pass on to the working people of the world the burden of the current imperialist economic and financial crisis.

The ICC resolved that the ILPS mobilize its member organizations, allies, and the masses in general for these globally coordinated struggles as well as several key struggles of international significance:

Commemoration of the 6th anniversary of invasion of Iraq on March 21, 2009

Expose and oppose imperialist agenda in the G20 meeting in London, UK, in March 2009

Protest actions against the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of NATO, April 1-5, 2009

People's Tribunal on the Asian Development Bank Meeting in Bali, Indonesia in May 2009

Support the International Migrants Alliance (IMA) to expose and oppose the Global Forum on Migration and Development in Athens, Greece on November 4-5, 2009.

Invitation to the International Meeting in Thessaloniki on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the imperialist intervention in Yugoslavia

Invitation to the International Meeting in Thessaloniki on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the imperialist intervention in Yugoslavia

The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist), on the occasion of the 10th anniversary since the waging of the NATO military, imperialist intervention against former Yugoslavia and the bombardment against Serbia, in May 1999, is organising a multipartite international meeting of communist parties and organizations from the Balkans, Eastern Europe and Eastern Mediterranean. the aim is to exchange views on the international situation and seek ways to consolidate international solidarity and the anti-imperialist struggle of the peoples in the region.
Ten years after the fierce bombings against the people of Serbia and the imperialist intervention in Kosovo, the Balkans remain the stage of intensive imperialist rivalries and foreign intervention. The recognition of Kosovo paved the way for the re-maping of the borders in the Balkans, which generates new serious dangers to peace and the future of the Balkan peoples. The policy of NATO expansion is on the same direction as the entrance of new countries in this imperialist coalition which will celebrate its 60th anniversary this spring. The peoples of the Balkans are constantly and seriously affected by the imperialist intervention and NATO custody.
The war developments in Georgia, the installation of the US anti-missile shield in Eastern Europe, the strong military mobilization in the Black Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean strongly indicate that the imperialist rivalry generates dangers for all peoples and their right to live in safety and peace. The recent criminal attack of Israel against the Gaza Strip and the mass slaughter of the Palestinian people underline the necessity for building a strong solidarity front internationally in support of the just struggle of the Palestinians for free Palestine.
There is no other alternative than building a strong anti-imperialist common front of peoples and their movements, independent of imperialist and bourgeois chauvinist, nationalist custody. its aim would be to oust the imperialist military and political presence from the region. Communists and all progressive and peace loving people should play the leading role in this by coordinating their steps and their struggle and by building bonds of international solidarity and cooperation for joined action common activity.
We hope that this meeting will contribute to this direction, along with the exchange of views and ideas. Our intention is to contribute to building an international anti-war, anti-imperialist front that will take initiatives of action and mobilization of the working and people’s forces.
In this context, we invite you to participate in the International Meeting in Thessaloniki, on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 of March 2009. During these two days a multipartite meeting will take place (with all the participants), and there will be a chance for bilateral meetings and exchange of views. An open debate with the topic “Developments in the Balkans and the region- the imperialist intervention and the answer of the peoples” will also take place.
This meeting is also supported by ILPS (International League of People’s Struggle) which rallies more than two hundreds social, union and anti-imperialist organizations from all over the world as well as anti-imperialist and anti-war commissions from various cities of Greece.
CPG (m-l) will provide the accommodation of delegations. We would expect that you confirm your participation and the number of delegates within 15 days most, in order to make preparations on time. English will be the basic language used in the meeting, but there will also be translations in German, Italian and Spanish.
The program of the meeting is as follows:

SATURDAY 21/3/2009

10.00 am -14.00 pm.: Meeting of delegations and discussion about the situation in Balkans and Eastern Mediterranean; the imperialist intervention and information about the anti-imperialist movement in every country.

19.00 pm.: Open debate with the topic: “10 years since the imperialist intervention in Yugoslavia, the peoples’ struggle against imperialism in the Balkans and the world”.

(The allocated time is 15 minutes. It will be a real help if you send your contribution in time, in order to have them translated and distributed to the people attending).

SUNDAY 22/3/2009

10.00 am.: Meeting of delegations about the anti-imperialist coordination and joined action. Discussion about a common declaration/communique statement of the meeting.

Meeting procedures and the open debate will take place within the university campus of Thessaloniki.

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine calls upon the Greek movement

Information Dept - PFLP

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine calls upon the Greek
movement, the Greek people and all international progressive forces to
halt the planned shipment of U.S. arms to Israel from the Greek port of
Astakos. International media reports have revealed that the U.S. Navy is
attempting to ship 325 20-foot containers of ammunition, over 3000 tons,
in an emergency shipment of arms to aid the occupation in its ongoing war
crimes against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The PFLP is calling upon the people of the world, and particularly the
Greek movement to act to stop this shipment of arms. The U.S. has been
attempting to hire a merchant ship to transport the weaponry to the
Israelis at Asdud port in mid- to late January. This weaponry must not be
allowed to enter the hands of the Israelis, where it will be used to
massacre our people in Gaza! It must be stopped by all means!

These bombs are going to be used in Israel's wars - against Palestinians,
Lebanese, Arabs, Iranians, and the people of the region. This emergency
shipment indicates that the occupier is demanding ever more weaponry in
its futile war of massacres against the Palestinian people and the
Palestinian resistance.

The demand of the Palestinian people, the Arab people, and all progressive
forces - including the progressive forces in the U.S. - is the
international isolation and the end of all U.S. aid to Israel. The U.S.
government, however is Israel's strategic partner, and is committed to
partnering with Israel in its massacres and crimes against our people. If
they will not stop the arms shipment, the people of Greece and the people
of the world must stop it for them!

The PFLP salutes the Greek people - your unconditional solidarity and your
mass demonstrations in support of the Palestinian people have sent a
strong and powerful message of support, combined with aid, volunteers, and
action on the ground. Your own courageous struggles for justice have
inspired us and people around the world.

We are calling upon:

1. All Greek companies and all shipping companies to refuse to carry any
shipment of arms to Israel. Any shipping company who carries these weapons
has the blood of the people of Gaza on its hands!

2. Greek workers and all port workers to refuse to load the cargo for any
shipment of arms to Israel. The strong hands of Greek workers and Greek
labor should not be sullied with this dangerous cargo!

3. The Greek government to prohibit the use of its port to ship arms to
the occupation state massacring our people!

4. The Greek people, the Greek movement, and all international and
progressive forces to take action to stop any such shipment from loading
or leaving the port of Astakos!

The PFLP is calling for your continuing unconditional solidarity and
support to prevent the U.S. and Israel from using the land and ports of
the Greek people a supply base for occupation, massacres, and crimes.

The Greek people have a proud history and present of struggle. The
relationship between the Arab people and the Greek people is strong and
powerful and we call upon you today to march with us once again toward
victory and justice for the Palestinian people and block this arms
shipment!

GREECE: BEFORE A DIFFICULT BUT PROMISING PERIOD

Almost a month after the cold blooded murder of the high school student Alexis Gregoropoulos by a policeman, in the center of Athens, the youth and workers mobilization continue to take place. Although it was Christmas holidays, the mobilization continued, less in number and mainly propagandistic. There are also some buildings occupations and various information activities. At the same time the presence of the police has increased significantly and the courts have started imprisoning some of the more than 200 arrested people during the demonstrations and the clashes with the riot police forces. There is an increased turmoil across the country and many new big mobilizations and demonstrations have already been announced for Friday, January 9. There is estimation that a second round of mobilization and confrontation with the government will take place.
The just and heroic eruption of the Greek youth and significant segments of the Greek workers and immigrants for the murder of the young student was the escalation of an –at least – two years social unrest and impetuous development of the youth movement, centralized in the university campuses and high schools. This movement focused against privatization in education and discipline of the students’ movement and developed a mass movement of campuses occupation and demonstrations that blocked the constitutional reform which indented to change the constitutionally secured public 3rd degree education. This reform was the common objective of both the (right wing) government and the social democrat bourgeois opposition. During those struggles a militant consciousness was formed within the youth which developed and radicalized later.
A significant factor for this radicalization was the rapid worsening of the economic situation of the workers and the lower social strata that were affected by the economic crisis and the anti-popular and anti-labor policies of the government. The so called new generation with income less than 700 euros has become the great mass of new workers that enter labor market while one out of four in unemployed. The Greek economy, tied hand and foot with the Stability Pact of the European Economic and Monetary Union is facing the spectrum of bankruptcy. Businesses close down, there are mass lay offs, the agricultural economy is devastated and the foreign capital is withdrawing its investments. The traditional sectors of Greek economy (tourism, services and shipping) are affected by the international economic crisis. All economic analysts predict a very difficult year for Greek workers and the poor people’s strata while the Karamanlis government in collaboration with the European Union staff is preparing new economic-measures-shock.
The two biggest parties of the capital that rotate in the administration of the country during the last decades, followed the same policies, imposed by the European monopolies, the European Union and the big Greek capital which is co-identified with the foreigners. Today and despite the extortion and threats of chaos, these two parties are in the lowest level of people’s acceptance and they are unable to control social indignation. The development would surely be more promising if there was an alternative, left and revolutionary political proposal by the Left. Unfortunately both parties that call themselves left (KKE (CPG) and SYRIZA (Coalition of Radical Left) insist on following the parliamentary way and try to turn the people’s and workers’ anger into votes and parliamentary seats. Particularly SYRIZA (Coalition of Radical Left) continues seeking government collaboration with social democracy while at the same time remains tied to its pro-european policy it has followed the previous years. Both parties hurried the first days of the youth revolt to meet with Prime Minister Karamanlis and declare thus their submission to the bourgeois parliamentary legitimacy.
2008 was the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party in Greece. However the present CPG is the ghost of the old heroic CPG (KKE). This was proved once again to thousands Greek leftists and communists during the recent days of the Greek youth’s revolt. The leadership of this party strongly opposed the explosion of wrath of the Greek youth, tried to undermine mass mobilizations and denounced as a whole the youths who were clashing for days with the police, as provocateurs and opportunists. Fro decades, and more particularly after the junta the CPG leadership is systematically trying to show respect to bourgeois legitimacy and control the working and youth struggles when they acquire mass and radical features and goals.
The lack of a reliable, revolutionary left in mass scale was very obvious, in this explosion of wrath that was rapidly spread all over Greece with various, manifold, mass and militant mobilizations. This Left should lead the people’s movement and orientate it to the direction of constant resistance and overthrow. Not simply the toppling of a government so another one comes with the same policies like the social democrats and the reformists anticipate but the overthrow totally of the anti-popular and anti-labor policies and in the direction of a broader social and political change. CPG (m-l) and its mass-front organizations are moving to this direction, participating from the very first in the mobilizations that took place during last month. It calls out all the other left organizations to this direction, to coordinate their activities and initiatives in the next future.
The government and the other forces of the regime will try these days to consolidate state and police intimidation and repression, being aware that the country has entered a long period of intensive social struggles. They will also try to use as a pretext the recent provoking actions like the recent armed attack against policemen in the center of Athens. The maximum possible mobilization of the people and youth will be required in order to cancel their schemes and continue the mass struggles. The international solidarity as it was expressed all over the world recently will also be required and needs to be consolidated. The times to come are going to be difficult but at the same time promising.

ZIONIST KILLERS GET OUT OF GAZA STRIP

The Zionist killers of Israel, with the full support of the US imperialists and the European Union, after seven days of merciless bombing, where the victims were civilians and small children proceeded to the second act of the tragedy against the suffering Palestinian people.
They invaded Gaza strip with hundreds tanks and thousands soldiers.
With this mass war operation the killers Zionists are operating against humanity. They spread disaster; they kill in cold blood in order to wear out the resistance of the Palestinian people.
The inconceivable brutality of the Zionist killers is aiming to strangle the struggle of the Palestinian people for a free homeland. At the same time they ignite worst danger for all the peoples in the region. The real face of the US imperialism and the European chancellors is being revealed.
From every drop of blood that has been spelt on the Palestinian land a new fighter is being born against the Zionist killers and their imperialists patrons.
We express our strongest solidarity and support to the struggle of the Palestinian people. We stand on their side and bleed from their tragedy.
We call out the Greek people to demonstrate in every city and demand the withdrawal of the Zionists from Gaza strip.
We call out the Greek people to fight on the side of the Palestinian people and all the peoples in the region against the killers, against imperialism and against the government and the forces of dependence in our country that provided cover to the Israeli killers.
We express our full support and solidarity to the heroic and militant resistance conducted by the Palestinian people – for years, every day and under the most difficult conditions – to liberate their homeland.
CPG (m-l) calls out the workers and youth to an all-people’s alert; calls out to a continuous militant mobilization all the progressive people across the country.
With various activities, actual solidarity and mass demonstrations we demand the end of the massacre by the invasion in Gaza; the ousting of the Zionist killers and the end of the siege in Gaza.
Immediate humanitarian aid and enforce the Greek government to provide health support and healthcare to seriously wounded people.

ZIONIST KILLERS!

HANDS OFF THE PEOPLE OF PALESTINE!

The Israeli Zionists once again are slaughtering the people of Palestine. With the complete support of the imperialists, both the US and European Union ones, are bombing and murdering the Palestinians in Gaza Strip after they had imposed for long time a blockade of starvation and genocide similar with the blockade that the Nazi had imposed in the Hebrew ghetto in Warsaw. The new terrorist and criminal action of the Zionists, aiming to wear down the heroic resistance of the people of Palestine, kills civilians and children, demolishes hospitals and institutes and threatens to invade Gaza.
What is taking place now in Gaza is a crime against all humanity. The goal is to subjugate the Palestinian Resistance and oblige the heroic people of Palestine to accept the deals directed by the imperialist for a state-ghost, a state-puppet under constant custody and control. If the resistance in Gaza is defeated it will become a serious defeat for all Arab people and all peoples that resist imperialism. The way will be paved for new interventions by imperialists and Zionists in Lebanon and other parts of the Middle East. Therefore the resistance in Gaza concerns all of us and directly it concerns the Greek anti-imperialist movement, the workers and youth that fight against the imperialist war and interventions.
The US imperialist along with the European Union are accomplices to this crime. The latter hypocritically maintains a stance of equal distance, making even the occupation with the Resistance and the killers with the victims but actually given, long ago, the green light for the genocide of the people in Gaza. In this crime participated also certain leaderships of Arab reactionary regimes that remain silent and they actually collaborate with the Israeli. The current and the previous Greek governments are also accomplices due to the strengthening of the relations with the state of Israel; they conduct joint military training and have signed many agreements of cooperation. At the same time by keeping equal distance they actually support the Zionist-criminals.
With our mass demonstrations let’s condemn the murderous actions of the Israeli Zionists. Let’s condemn their imperialist patrons who have armed and supported for years the murderous actions of the Zionists along with the cover provided by our country to the Zionist killers.
With our mass rallies and marches let’s demonstrate our rage both against the killers and everyone that supports and covers them. The crimes of the Zionists are also their crimes. Again and again in the streets to express our solidarity to the heroic people of Palestine.
With our mass demonstrations let’s express our full solidarity to the heroic and militant resistance of the Palestinian people conducted for years and under the most difficult conditions in order to liberate their home-land.
The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) calls out an all-people’s alert, the workers and the youth, calls out to a continuous militant mobilization all the progressive people across the country.
With various activities, actual solidarity and mass demonstrations we demand the end of bombing, prevent the invasion in Gaza and end the blockade.
Send immediately urgent humanitarian aid and enforce the Greek government to provide health support and healthcare to the seriously wounded.

The Resistance in Gaza must not be defeated!
The final victory belongs to the people of Palestine!
