The people and the working class of Greece struggle for the overthrow of imperialist brutality and subjugation

Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist)

The situation in Greece

The situation in Greece is critical both for the people and the working class. Because of the imperialist dependence of the country, its position in the EU and the Eurozone, its military-political dependence in NATO and its military-political role as a NATO-US springboard, the social and political developments in Greece cannot be seen apart from the developments in SE Mediterranean, the M. East., N. Africa, the Balkans and the quarrels inside the EU.
All contradictions and geo-political aims of the imperialist powers in the region, along with the special but critical issue of the future of the EU, are influencing all developments in our country, having in their background the world crisis. That is the reason that Greece is in the first page of the Media something that is proportionately greater than that of other countries similar to Greece (Portugal, Ireland).

Eternal honor to comrade Koteswara Rao
Solidarity to the struggle of CP of India (Maoist)

Press Statement

With sorrow and anger we learned officially from the Communist Party of India (Maoist) about the brutal murder of the leading cadre of the Indian revolutionary communist movement Mallojula Koteswara Rao, member of the Politburo of CPI (Maoist) on November 24, 2011. Comrade Rao, known by the millions of revolutionary Indian peasants and poor as Kisenji, was murdered in cold blood by the special forces of the Indian criminal state, after chasing him in a forest area of West Bengal. Despite the claims of the police that he was killed in an armed encounter, all evidence show that he was murdered after being caught and tortured.
The hate of the Indian state was so great that it put restrictions in his funeral so that it might not become mass mobilization. Comrade Rao was a leading personality and had guided great struggles of the peasants, the dalits and the indigenous people in eastern India, he was the inspirator of resistance and great popular movements of Singhur, Nandigram and Lalghar that have shook irreparably the government of W. Bengal and had a great influence on the movements in all of India. A militant fighter since fifteen, Rao, took part in the great uprising of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh in 1969. He was a child of a poor family in the Indian countryside and he devoted his whole life till his death to the cause of the revolution. He was the protagonist in the unification of the two great organizations of the naxalite movement and the formation of the CP India (Maoist) in 2004. He was the organizer of the political and military successes of the guerrilla movement in the whole of Eastern India, the famous “red corridor”.
For all these reasons comrade Rao was one of the main targets of the criminal head hunters of the Indian regime during the so called operation “Green Hunt”. The target of this genocidal operation is the uprooting of the revolutionary movement with mass killings, village burnings, population transfer and other brutalities. The murder of comrade Rao is one in many targeted killings of leading cadres in recent years aiming at the beheading of the revolutionary movement.
There human losses that are heavy as a mountain and the loss of comrade Rao is such one to the millions of poor workers and peasants of India. That is why the reactionary regime of India and its propaganda media are rejoicing all these days. Unfortunately for them there are thousands of fighters like comrade Rao in India who are ready to take his place in the struggle for a society of justice and freedom.
The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) sends its warm condolences and solidarity to the comrades of the CP India (Maoist), to all popular resistance movements and the family of comrade Rao. It condemns the criminal Indian regime that supports the interests of an oligarchic minority against the hundreds of millions of poor popular masses. We stress our solidarity to the revolutionary movement of the Indian people, a revolutionary movement that is in the forefront of the revolutionary struggles of the people of Asia for social and national liberation.

Eternal honor to comrade Koteswara Rao

PRESS STATEMENT

Athens 28 November 2011

Dear comrades

On behalf of the cadres as well as the rank and file members of the Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) we express our condolences for the cold-blooded murder and planned assassination of c. Kishanji alias Mallojula Koteswara Rao, Politburo Member of CPI (Maoist) on 24 November 2011. We strongly condemn the murderous Indian state which, once more, manifested its barbarous character against any revolutionary fighting to defend people’s rights and social liberation. This murder comes a few months after the torture and killing of c. Azad, another high cadre of PCI (Maoist) and exposes the hate but also the fear of the Indian reactionary establishment for the development of people’s struggle all over India.

Greek communists will by all means express their solidarity through their own struggle against imperialism and reactionary forces, promoting our common tasks for a revolutionary change and a socialist future.

People’s wrath flooded the whole country! The determination of the people and the workes must block the brutal attack, state terror and provocatsia!

Thurdasy 20/10/2011
The Communist Party of Greece (m-l) salutes the hundreds of thousands of strikers who for two days have flooded the streets and the squares in Athens and every city all over the country against the new law – that concerns new austerity measures and abolition of workers rights.
This 2-day general strike was the result of the pressure exercised on the sold out leadership of the two workers’ confederations ( in public and private sector). During the last weeks there were a lot of mobilizations in the public sector, hospitals, ministries etc. this strike has shown – once more – that the workers and the people in our country are determined to fight and overthrow the barbarism imposed by the gornment’s policies and to oust the Troica, the IMF and the European imperialists. They have managed to surpass the obstacles set forth by the sold out leadership of the union with their participation in mass assemblies and militand resolutions in work places and unions.
The Communist Party of Greece (m-l) denounces the state terror that was launched –particularly the second day, 20/10, in Syntagma Square in Athens through a sweeping operation using chemical gas against the demonstrators.
The clash among erroneous and provocative stances and practices on who was the “owner” of the square contributed in the premature dispersal of the mass demonstration in Syntagma Square.
On one side it was those who hurried to encircle the parliament claiming that they were the “genuine class force” and on the other side it was those who overwear their existence in throwing stones. This clash provided to the government the pretext to accelerate and launch its attack against the demonstrators. And unfortunately it resulted to a death.
Regardless of the result of the voting in parliament, the workers can and should continue their resistance against the policies of Troica and its puppets (the bourgeois parties) in order to hinder the appliance of this new law.
The only way to defend their lives is to continue to resist and struggle. Neither elections nor coalition governments –that may be prepared- can be the solution to their problems.

The US imperialists were, are, and will always be the sworn enemies of the peoples of the region

Hillary Clinton out of Greece!

Imperialists out of Greece, Turkey, the Balkans, Cyprus, and the Middle East!

War against the imperialist war!

The visit to Greece of the official representative of US imperialism, Hillary Clinton, is a direct provocation to our people but also to other peoples in the region. It is a show of force of the superpower, first and foremost, against the fighting Greek people.
The representatives of US imperialists visit Greece with audacity in order to confirm their direct intervention in our country and the region.
They come here after the Greek government reshuffling to show to their European counterparts that the superpower wants and can put its stamp in the developments and the balance of powers in the region. It wants mainly the alignment of the regional regimes with the US interests.
They also come here in order to support the Greek government, which wants this support after the recent events. The Greek government aligns itself openly with the fascist, zionist state of Israel in its continuous crime against the fighting Palestinian people and everyone who dares to express his solidarity.
Our people must demonstrate again against this visit. We must shout: THE US ARE UNWANTED!!! They must go taking with them their bases, NATO, their “aid”, and the IMF.
We must take again to the streets and the squares.
The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) calls for common and coordinated demonstrations in Athens and every major city in which we will condemn the American plans and the subjugation of the local government.

About the “Free Gaza” Mission

Press Release

Tuesday June 28, 2011

The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) condemns the criminal and provocative stance of the government of Israel in its attempt to discourage the international humanitarian mission against the genocidal blockade of the Palestinian people in Gaza. The fascist, Zionist state threatens to repeat last year’s murderous attack, threatens the reporters of the international media and puts pressure on governments and humanitarian organizations. Behind these threats and open state terrorism are as always the US imperialists, European governments and the UN leadership.
The CPG (m-l) condemns the stance of the Greek government which, in its attempt to dissuade the participation of Greek citizens, gives permission for piratical and criminal practices in international and Palestinian waters by the state of Israel. The CPG (m-l) notes that the Papandreou government has in recent years strengthened its relationship with Israel against the wishes of the majority of the Greek people and the neighbor Arab peoples.
The CPG (m-l) has on every opportunity stated that the support and the solidarity for the just, national liberation, and anti-occupation struggle of the Palestinian people is the affair of a mass, independent, and anti-imperialist struggle of the peoples. This struggle is against the selfish aims of bourgeois and imperialist forces which have proven many times that they can easily change sides and policies. We have noted that the solidarity movement must choose actions and initiatives that conform to their own dynamic and power and must rely on their own strength. Anyway we call upon the democratic Greek people to support the Palestinian right for life, freedom and dignity.

Attack WEF summit in Vienna, Austria, June 2011!
Smash imperialism and all its institutions!

From 8 to 9 June the summit of World Economic Forum (WEF) will take place in Vienna, Austria. Then more than 1000 representatives of various governments and companies with meet to coordinate on “economic, political and academic issues” and draw common plans on that. At least when reading the self-definition of WEF about “membership” one sees clearly who is meeting whom at this summit and which forces are convening for this summit: “A typical member company is a global enterprise with a turn-over of more than 5 billion US dollars.” The WEF summit is more than a mere conference for discussion, it is an important board of coordination of the biggest monopoly enterprises (banks and trusts) in the world sharing their plans for further and further maximizing their profits. The governments of the imperialist as well as the puppet governments installed by them in the dependent countries take part in the meeting to secure the translation of their plans into action. The contents of their coordinated plans are their attacks against the masses of the peoples and the working class. It’s about the interest of those who produce austerity programs, wage-cuts, longer working hours, abolishing political rights und much more against the workers for creating better conditions for the capitalists. It’s about the interest of those who have de-industrialized the Balkans and have destroyed social rights there, who have transformed Greece into a mere colony of EU- and US-Imperialism. It’s about the interest of those who have destroyed environment by ruinously exhausting the soil or by “profitably running” nuclear power plants (such as in Japan). It’s about the interests of those who suppress the peoples around the globe and instigate imperialist wars to enable them shape the conditions according to their profit interest.

It’s not the WEF alone but a long line of various international organizations and cooperations (e.g. International Monetary Funds – IMF, World Bank, General Agreement on Trades in Services – GATS etc.) that are very important for the interest of the capital of the imperialist countries and unions (US, EU, Russia,…). The WEF is however not the most important international meeting but it must nevertheless not be underestimated. As the spheres of exploitation and influence have already been distributed on a global scale the imperialist robbers unavoidably come into conflict with each other during their chase for profits. These contradiction emerging from the struggle for further maximum profits lead to conflicts increasing up to wars among the contending states for world domination. In trying to weaken the further aggravation of these conflicts among the imperialist states at least for some time and to get more space for their own maneuvers the representatives of the capital are led to certain international coordination. It’s transitory because the conflicts among them aggravate sooner or later to a point that for them international coordination becomes more a hindrance than a means of tactical advantage. As the WEF as well as other international institution of capital are based on such fundaments it cannot be fought against without struggle against imperialism at the same time. For communists in imperialist countries the main enemy is always in their ”own” country and their “own” imperialist bourgeoisie and it is their “own” state that must be fought against primarily. For those in dependent countries the struggle against suppression by the imperialist powers and the respective puppets in the governments installed by them is the most important task. On the one and the other way the point is that the revolutionary forces can only win if the working class movement in the imperialist countries closely links and unites with the movement of the workers and the peoples of the dependent countries. This unity expresses politically in proletarian internationalism, the firm revolutionary unity of the working class and peoples that is built up against the imperialist world order with the certain elements at present working together on a tactical level or not.

At present the imperialist governments succeed in calming down the working class of the imperialist countries to a large extent by means of extra profits squeezed out from the neo-colonies but especially the revolts in the suburbs (France 2006), the revolutionary movement in Bask Country, the militant workers movements in France, Italy and elsewhere we see rudiments of a militant, radical resistance against capitalism. The workers and peoples movement in the dependent countries however go further. The Greek proletariat that is still resisting the deterioration dictated by imperialism, the workers of Eastern Europe that are resisting the destruction of their social and political rights, the revolutionary peoples wars in India, Peru, Philippines, Turkey …, the democratic peoples rebellions in the Arabic countries, … – all these give vivid evidence that the plans of the imperialists, such as those coordinated at the WEF summit and elsewhere are answered by the peoples, are confronted by revolutionary resistance.

The topic of the WEF summit in Vienna is “Eastern Europe and Central Asia”. It’s not by chance that this summit takes place in Vienna when bearing in mind the role of Austrian imperialism especially in Eastern Europe and at the Balkans where it has heavy economic and political influence. Since the years after the fall of Russian social-imperialism in 1991hte WEF has regularly met in Vienna for coordinating the imperialist exploitation of the Balkans. This focal point of the WEF summit is moreover important for the imperialist EU project of today as they are according their political, military and economic intervention in this region with the biggest global monopoly companies i.e. nothing else than discussing among imperialists about the issue of gaining more profits from Eastern Europe or the Balkans, how to squeeze the people even more under the boots of imperialism. It’s a similar situation in Central Asia where the battle for zones of influence and markets aggravates among the imperialists of Russia, the EU, US and China and the capital interests of the Group of Shanghai 5. There however the imperialists are confronted with broad people’s movements and peoples wars led by Maoists whereas the people’s resistance at the Balkans is still weak.

We know well that radical upheavals leading to proletarian revolutions develop within the framework of nations, that contradictions develop unevenly and that therefore revolutionary forces are confronted with their respective next steps to solve their problems, but for getting further we nevertheless must advance and strengthen the cooperation of revolutionary communist forces in our struggles. Referring to the certain occasion we state that the WEF is an expression of objective imperialist needs and accordingly their interests. Therefore we call for getting active against them and participating in the actions against the WEF summit in June 2011 in Vienna. We want to develop the resistance on an internationalist and revolutionary level meaning that even a liquidation of the WEF would not change much – as capitalism has no errors but it is the error! Neither the international organizations and forums of the capital nor the imperialist global system can be reformed or shaped according with the interest of the masses. The aim is not a “fairer” distribution of the given goods but to bring production and political power into the hands of the working class and the peoples masses, and the first step for this must be smashing the bourgeois state apparatus. Against imperialism and all its institutions we link up with the resistance of the working class and peoples masses against the living conditions produced by imperialism and build up the struggle against the capitalist-imperialist system as a whole, the struggle for proletarian revolution, for communism.

Down with imperialism and all its institutions!

Forward with the anti-imperialist and people’s democratic revolutions!

Forward with the proletarian revolution!

No to the new Imperialist War! No to any Greek Involvement!Press Release Solidarity to the Libyan People!

The criminal aggression of the French, British and American imperialists against Libya sows death on the civilian population, destroys infrastructure, hits hospitals and creates a new wave of misery and refugees.
This aggression is not for the support of the rebelling Libyan people, as is hypocritically and shamelessly declared by the governments of Europe and the USA. Their target is the rebelling Arab peoples, the establishment of regimes subjected to the imperialists, the re-division of the oil contracts, and in general the imposition of western influence in the Arab world.
The imperialists and all those that legalize them and call for action, are cynical hypocrites. They use eclectically the “humanitarian” card, the same time the reactionary monarchies and regimes of the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula slaughter their own rebelling peoples with western aid. The stance of the European Parliament and the so-called European Left is openly criminal and once more warmongering and subjugated to imperialism.
In this new criminal imperialist warmongering the Greek government participates openly with the granting of airfields, ports, war boats and warplanes. This is a highly dangerous move against both the Greek people and of course the people of the Mediterranean and the region. The Papandreou government, blindly following the imperialist dictates, has already given the go-ahead for the conversion of the Suda base in Crete to headquarters and the Actium and Andravida bases as springboards for the attack on Libya.
The CPG (m-l) calls the Greek people and the antiwar-antiimperialist movement to rise up! We must demand the complete disengagement of our country from this military aggression and the immediate shut-down of the US-NATO bases of Suda and Actium. As we did during the wars against Iraq and Yugoslavia we must show our clear opposition to the attack on Libya and the Greek involvement on this. We must show our solidarity to the Libyan people. We must demand the immediate exit of our country from the imperialist institutions of the EU and NATO.
The Libyan people are the only ones that can and must confront the reactionary Qaddafi regime. Democracy, freedom and the progressive social changes do not come through the imperialist gunboats and the “stealthy” American bombers, but through genuine people’s struggles and independent radical revolts.

LONG LIVE PEOPLES’ STRUGGLE! THE SUDA BASE MUST CLOSE!

PRESS RELEASE OF THE COMMITTEE AGAINST FOREIGN BASES AND FOREIGN DEPENDENCE

The citizens of Chania, Crete are once more worried and enraged for the terrorist actions of US imperialism against neighbor peoples. This rage can feed a new round of popular mobilizations in order to oust the lair of killers from our land.
At this time is not enough to worry about the concrete danger of an updated base of the US war machine in Suda. And it is not permissible for anyone to accept – for the umpteenth time – the known dirty propaganda of the imperialists.
The USA and the imperialist countries of Europe cannot hide their contradictions, and they were all contented for decades now with the tyrannical regimes of Ben Ali, Qaddafi, Mubarak, the sheiks of Yemen, the Sultans of Oman, etc. Up to now they had imposed control on the Arab world and its oil through repeated wars, the use of Zionist Israel, even the bombardment of irascible and idiosyncratic Qaddafi.
The continuing uprising of the peoples from Morocco in the Atlantic to the Gulf of Aden and the Hormuz Straits in the Arabian Peninsula not only lay waste to the Western plans for strengthening this control but create new historic conditions that are unpleasant to imperialists but are hopeful for the peoples and their struggle in order to throw away exploitation, tyranny and imperialist yoke!!!
Let it be plain! The use of Suda base as was in the past (Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq) it will be in the future; that is the terrorization and slaughter of the peoples and not the democratization of Libya. In Libya as well as in Egypt, Tunisia and elsewhere, where the peoples succeed in ousting their tyrants, the imperialists want to post new puppets in order to retain control. That is why they send their warships to the Libyan Sea. That is why they want to use our land as springboard.

We must not let them do it!
We must demand from the government to stop any use of the Suda base by the imperialists.
We must struggle to overthrow the politics of dependence and subordination that subjugates our people and involves our country with the most dangerous plans of the imperialists.

LONG LIVE PEOPLES’ STRUGGLE!
THE SUDA BASE MUST CLOSE!

Chania, Crete 2-3-2011

Keratea is every corner of Greece the struggles for the right to life, dignity and the future!

Keratea is a small town with a population of 7.500 people. It is located in the south region of Attica, 40 km from Athens.
The people of this small town are under siege by the repression forces and clash every day, since December 11th, with the riot police forces. These clashes are particularly violent and the police forces are attacking against older people or youth mercilessly and indiscreetly.
The region of Keratea was chosen to become a city damp along with two other areas (in Attica also) in 2003 by the then social-democrat government with the financing of the European Union. No matter how they are named they are actually city damps quite close or inside residential districts that will destroy the environment and seriously degrade the every day life of the people, their health, and their activities without solving the problem of garbage. Meanwhile there are tens of thousands lay offs in the municipalities (that allegedly manage the garbage in Greece) and major cut offs according the directives of the Memorandum, the European Union, the IMF and the European Central Bank that aggravate the situation. These projects benefit only the big contractors and the planning of the government. Therefore the attempt to implement these projects is met with the justified and mass protests of the people in the area.
The people of Keratea and other areas have every right to defend their region from devastation and nothing can oblige them to solve themselves the problem of garbage. Had the governments wanted to solve the problem in a way that would serve the interests and the needs of the people they would have done it long ago, since there are so many studies and experience from other countries regarding solutions to the interest of the city residents and the environment.
The government and the municipalities, by and large, chose solutions that serve the interests of big contractors in a way that there will be profit either for them or the municipalities through town dues.
A whole army of riot police forces – more than 1.500 men - accompanied the machinery of the contractors at 04.00 am on Saturday, 11 of December 2010. It is about a particularly beautiful area with archeological sites. Still the residents of Keratea were not surprised and after alarming the church bells and tooting their claxons assembled to defend their home town. Ever since then, the attacks by the riot police forces are constant day in – day out despite the court decisions in favor of the residents. The government considers the so called legitimacy – in the cases that it is in favor of the residents, as in the case of Keratea – as well as the laws and the Constitution simple waste.

Solidarity to the people of Keratea
Their struggle is ours as well

Solidarity with the Tunisian revolt!

Athens, December 16th, 2011

The sacrifice of a small peddler who set himself on fire on the 17th of last December after having his wares confiscated because he had no “permit”, has sparked a widespread fire on all cities of Tunisia. For a month now the people of this country, with the youth in the forefront, are revolting against the reactionary and autocratic regime. This revolt that started as anger against high prices and unemployment but also against political repression was quickly transformed to a political confrontation and demand for the overthrow of the president and his reactionary regime.
The response of the reactionary forces was the intensification of the repression with 70 dead, hundreds of wounded and widespread arrests of communists and leftists. But the people goes on and escalates his demonstrations so the president Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, a lackey of the western imperialists, is forced to flee the country and the PM Mohammed Ghannouchi announces that he will lead the country to elections, in order to disorientate the people and stem the popular resistance. But the popular masses and the youth insist on their resistance although the regime deploys the army and tanks in order to suppress the popular revolt.
The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) expresses its solidarity with the fighting people of Tunisia and calls all left forces of our country to support jointly the struggle of the Tunisian people and demand the release of all political prisoners.

The Zionists will pay for the crimes they commit!

Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) Press Statement

The Zionists will pay for the crimes they commit!

The international criminals, leaders of the Israeli state have hit again! They proved once more that they are equal successors of the Nazi-fascist crimes of the 20th century.
They murdered in cold blood unarmed supporters of the Palestinians’ struggle after they captured their ships, among them two Greek ships, which carried humanitarian aid and attempted to break the siege of Gaza Strip. They arrested hundreds members of the Free Gaza Movement, injured dozens of them and captured all the ships. Not as common pirates, though! For the contemporary pirates, for example, in Somalia coasts and elsewhere have proved that they respect human life. They committed it as absolute sub-humans, and serial killers-terrorists. Only a modern Nuremberg trial is what they should be facing.
Everyone with the US imperialists in charge, that supported Israel for decades in its genocidal policy it had carried out against the people of Palestine, is equally responsible for Israel’s crimes. The Greek government is equally guilty for what happened today at dawn, actually in international waters. It remained silent all these days despite the Israeli threats and continued the close relationships with the Israeli Zionist regime. Only after the slaughter it was forced to withdraw form the joint military exercises with the Israeli armed forces which committed at that time another crime against humanity.
The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) calls the workers and the youth, and every progressive people to condemn this new crime of the Zionist killers and participate actively in the demonstrations across the country: To consolidate the solidarity struggle for the Palestinian people. To consolidate the struggle against the imperialist barbarism and everyone that supports it.

IMMEDIATE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL PRISONERS!
BREAK THE GENOCIDAL SIEGE OF GAZA STRIP!
THE ZIONIST KILLERS MUST BE PUNISHED!
NO DIPLOMATIC RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ZIONIST REGIME!
SOLIDARITY TO THE FIGHTING PALESTINIANS AND THE INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY MOVEMENT!

Pressemitteilung

Kommunistische Partei Griechenlands (marxistisch-leninistisch)

Mittwoch, den 5. Mai 2010

Millions of Greeks against the IMF and the European Union

Hundreds of thousands of workers in the private and public sector, unemployed, youth, pensioners, migrants, and small owners flooded the streets all over Greece, on Wednesday May 5th, general strike day. The country hasn’t witnessed such large and angry demonstrations for decades. The rally in Athens was huge and lasted for many hours despite the successive police and riot police attacks. Mass demonstrations also took place in Thessaloniki, Patra, Ioannina, Larisa, Volos, in the Aegean islands and the big cities of Crete island. It became obvious that the overwhelming majority of the Greek people are against the measures that the government took in collaboration with the IMF, the European Union and the European Central Bank, and they are determined to struggle and overthrow these measures.

The package of measures agreed by the social-democrat government and the IMF and the EU include: for public sector workers, big salary cuts and thousands of layoffs and pension cuts; in private sector, layoffs, reduction of severance pay, abolition of collective contracts, significant increase in indirect taxes (VAT increase to 23%), big cuts in public funding for health care, education and social welfare, privatizations etc. In fact it is a horrible policy of social barbarity that returns Greece to previous times of widespread poverty, unemployment and misery. The objective of these measures is to save the speculators and creditors of the country; to make the workforce very cheap in order to attract foreign rapacious investments; to sell out natural resources and protect the immeasurable riches of the local elite-bourgeoisie. With these measures Greece is being totally handed over to the foreign imperialist capital and its institutions. Greece has been turned—officially--into an economic colony of foreign robbers and its people are subjugated to foreign economic bail out and the directives of IMF and the European imperialists.

This development required many years to take place. Through the participation of Greece in the European Union (former EEC) since the early ’80s, its economy was increasingly subjugated to the directives of the European monopolies and captured by the multinational corporations and the European capital to a greater extent than earlier. Gradually the agrarian sector was devastated along with manufacturing, light industry and the entire industrial productive structure. Greek export sectors collapsed, and internal production was replaced with the increase of importations. The situation significantly worsened after the country joined the Euro-zone and could no longer exercise an autonomous monetary and exchange policy. Greece, like other countries on the European periphery, became the best customers of the German-French export goods, which were subsidized through government loaning and credit expansion in private households. The plans of the local elite-bourgeoisie to turn Greece into a country of services and tourism resulted in bankruptcy. The country became completely subject to predatory foreign capital, and faced the full onslaught of the international economic capitalist crisis.

The debt crisis in Greece is part and a prologue of a more general crisis that has already erupted in the economies of the European South as a result of the war of capitals, currency, parities and policies among the imperialist powers. This rivalry is raging due to the deep capitalist crisis and the subsequent attempt from each one to put its heavy burden to the other. The attack of predatory speculation on Greek bankrupt sectors took place with main objective to undermine the euro and to test the coherence of the euro-zone. Greece was selected as the weak and defenseless link of this chain and this attack will continue. For it was proved that the euro-zone is a peculiar case with serious problems, contradictions and national rivalries that aggravate and prevent the coordination of policies.

Regardless of the course of the euro and the international economic crisis, what matters is that only the struggle of the workers to overthrow these brutal measures can bring hope. These days, the Greek workers are in the streets against the police repression and the provocations organized by centers that wish to intimidate the demonstrators. They try to safeguard their demonstrations from the police attacks and from the blind violence of those who are responsible for the death of the three bank workers. They convey an international and class solidarity message and particularly call on the workers in Europe to rise up and struggle against the austerity measures decided by the commanders of the European Union.

The Greek workers, unemployed, migrants, youth and elder people are fighting to oust the IMF and the European Central Bank and to overthrow the measures that were succumbed to by the Papandreou government. They fight to get the country out of the European Union. They must fight for an independent and socialist Greece, the only way out against the local capitalist class that has brought the economy and the society to this situation.

Press Statement

The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) salutes the hundreds of thousands workers, youth, unemployed and pensioners who demonstrated their wrath against the barbarity of the measures promoted by the government and the imperialist European Union and IMF mechanisms, all over Greece. We stress on the unprecedented mass anger and determination of the workers to fight in order to overthrow the measures and oust the IMF and EU criminals who along with the local capital attempt to eliminate the social majority and the future of the country and its people.

Once again various provocatsia, undermining, disorientation and terror mechanisms were mobilized in front of the justified people’s wrath that flooded the streets in every city in Greece. The apparent goal is to intimidate the people and block the flood of anger and struggle. Along with the media propaganda that lasted for months and miserably failed to persuade the people, along with threats and directives concerning the bourgeois legitimacy, at the same time with a huge police operation and threats there were also mobilized the undermining practice by actions totally alien to the spirit of today’s great demonstrations. Every time that our people and the workers are attempting to rise and take their fate in their hands, to get rid from the political paternalism of bourgeois parties and stand independently defending their interests, forces and actions either blind or provocative provide a leg up or even the salvation pretext to the dominants, the government and the establishment. Already the government and the media are taking brutally advantage of the tragic death of three people in order to set up scenery of concert, fear and coercion.

They will not succeed! Workers and youth, by safeguarding their mobilizations will continue and escalate their struggles, strikes and demonstrations. They will not be disorientated by the provocations, they will not submit to the calls of national concert and the so called smoothness; they will not be dragged by the spirit of submission of the political leaders’ council. They will mass the lines of struggle for the overall overthrow of the brutal measures and policies of the government, EU and IMF.

STOP THE MASSACRE IN WEST BENGAL!

The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) strongly denounces the mass murderous assault conducted by the security forces and the paramilitary gangs ordered by the West Bengal government against the fighting peasants and adivasis in Lalgarh, West Midnapor. The administration in Kolkata, in collaboration with the federal state and police forces have surrounded villages and rural areas, exercising brutal violence and have launched a huge tide of state terror, arrests, detentions and killings, aiming to wear down the resistance of poor peasants and adivasis in order to implement the land-grabbing policy of their lands by the multinational corporations. They have the impertinence to characterize as terrorists the revolutionaries, who under the leadership of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), fight in the forefront of this just struggle against the pro-imperialist policies of the Kalkota and New Delhi governments.
The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) calls all the progressive people across the world to express their solidarity to the struggle of the poor peasants and adivasis in West Bengal and demand to stop the military assault that has been launched in the most brutal way.

Solidarity Message from the Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) to the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist)

Comrades

We wish to convey our warmest revolutionary greetings and express our strongest solidarity to you and the Nepalese people in this crucial juncture for the development in your country.
The imperialists and expansionists never stopped for a single minute to hinder the revolutionary process and intervene in Nepal using their agents and the subordinate forces in their reactionary plots.
However the Nepalese people with their mass and active participation in the demonstrations, protests and every day clashes with the police forces, against the political coup of President Yadav, who acted under the directions of both Indian and US imperialists, are showing to the rest of the world that the future of Nepal is yet to be written by its people’s struggle.
People’s War was initiated by the CPN (Maoist) in the darkest period for the Communist Movement and in the most adverse context internationally and internally. The resolute factor for the success of People’s War was the support and the active participation of the Nepalese People.
During the last three years the development was both complex and unprecended. The current situation is not a surprise. This deadlock seemed unavoidable and probably delayed. The Revolution Process is a very complex situation where class struggle is extremely intensified, changes forms and the line struggle is an every day issue.
It is the duty of all progressive people, democrats and communists to support the Nepalese people in their struggle to pave the way for their future against imperialists and reactionaries and their puppets.

Long Live International Solidarity!

Comradely
