The people and the working class of Greece struggle for the overthrow of imperialist brutality and subjugation

Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist)

The situation in Greece

The situation in Greece is critical both for the people and the working class. Because of the imperialist dependence of the country, its position in the EU and the Eurozone, its military-political dependence in NATO and its military-political role as a NATO-US springboard, the social and political developments in Greece cannot be seen apart from the developments in SE Mediterranean, the M. East., N. Africa, the Balkans and the quarrels inside the EU.
All contradictions and geo-political aims of the imperialist powers in the region, along with the special but critical issue of the future of the EU, are influencing all developments in our country, having in their background the world crisis. That is the reason that Greece is in the first page of the Media something that is proportionately greater than that of other countries similar to Greece (Portugal, Ireland).

Eternal honor to comrade Koteswara Rao
Solidarity to the struggle of CP of India (Maoist)

Press Statement

With sorrow and anger we learned officially from the Communist Party of India (Maoist) about the brutal murder of the leading cadre of the Indian revolutionary communist movement Mallojula Koteswara Rao, member of the Politburo of CPI (Maoist) on November 24, 2011. Comrade Rao, known by the millions of revolutionary Indian peasants and poor as Kisenji, was murdered in cold blood by the special forces of the Indian criminal state, after chasing him in a forest area of West Bengal. Despite the claims of the police that he was killed in an armed encounter, all evidence show that he was murdered after being caught and tortured.
The hate of the Indian state was so great that it put restrictions in his funeral so that it might not become mass mobilization. Comrade Rao was a leading personality and had guided great struggles of the peasants, the dalits and the indigenous people in eastern India, he was the inspirator of resistance and great popular movements of Singhur, Nandigram and Lalghar that have shook irreparably the government of W. Bengal and had a great influence on the movements in all of India. A militant fighter since fifteen, Rao, took part in the great uprising of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh in 1969. He was a child of a poor family in the Indian countryside and he devoted his whole life till his death to the cause of the revolution. He was the protagonist in the unification of the two great organizations of the naxalite movement and the formation of the CP India (Maoist) in 2004. He was the organizer of the political and military successes of the guerrilla movement in the whole of Eastern India, the famous “red corridor”.
For all these reasons comrade Rao was one of the main targets of the criminal head hunters of the Indian regime during the so called operation “Green Hunt”. The target of this genocidal operation is the uprooting of the revolutionary movement with mass killings, village burnings, population transfer and other brutalities. The murder of comrade Rao is one in many targeted killings of leading cadres in recent years aiming at the beheading of the revolutionary movement.
There human losses that are heavy as a mountain and the loss of comrade Rao is such one to the millions of poor workers and peasants of India. That is why the reactionary regime of India and its propaganda media are rejoicing all these days. Unfortunately for them there are thousands of fighters like comrade Rao in India who are ready to take his place in the struggle for a society of justice and freedom.
The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) sends its warm condolences and solidarity to the comrades of the CP India (Maoist), to all popular resistance movements and the family of comrade Rao. It condemns the criminal Indian regime that supports the interests of an oligarchic minority against the hundreds of millions of poor popular masses. We stress our solidarity to the revolutionary movement of the Indian people, a revolutionary movement that is in the forefront of the revolutionary struggles of the people of Asia for social and national liberation.

Eternal honor to comrade Koteswara Rao

PRESS STATEMENT

Athens 28 November 2011

Dear comrades

On behalf of the cadres as well as the rank and file members of the Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) we express our condolences for the cold-blooded murder and planned assassination of c. Kishanji alias Mallojula Koteswara Rao, Politburo Member of CPI (Maoist) on 24 November 2011. We strongly condemn the murderous Indian state which, once more, manifested its barbarous character against any revolutionary fighting to defend people’s rights and social liberation. This murder comes a few months after the torture and killing of c. Azad, another high cadre of PCI (Maoist) and exposes the hate but also the fear of the Indian reactionary establishment for the development of people’s struggle all over India.

Greek communists will by all means express their solidarity through their own struggle against imperialism and reactionary forces, promoting our common tasks for a revolutionary change and a socialist future.

Keratea is every corner of Greece the struggles for the right to life, dignity and the future!

Keratea is a small town with a population of 7.500 people. It is located in the south region of Attica, 40 km from Athens.
The people of this small town are under siege by the repression forces and clash every day, since December 11th, with the riot police forces. These clashes are particularly violent and the police forces are attacking against older people or youth mercilessly and indiscreetly.
The region of Keratea was chosen to become a city damp along with two other areas (in Attica also) in 2003 by the then social-democrat government with the financing of the European Union. No matter how they are named they are actually city damps quite close or inside residential districts that will destroy the environment and seriously degrade the every day life of the people, their health, and their activities without solving the problem of garbage. Meanwhile there are tens of thousands lay offs in the municipalities (that allegedly manage the garbage in Greece) and major cut offs according the directives of the Memorandum, the European Union, the IMF and the European Central Bank that aggravate the situation. These projects benefit only the big contractors and the planning of the government. Therefore the attempt to implement these projects is met with the justified and mass protests of the people in the area.
The people of Keratea and other areas have every right to defend their region from devastation and nothing can oblige them to solve themselves the problem of garbage. Had the governments wanted to solve the problem in a way that would serve the interests and the needs of the people they would have done it long ago, since there are so many studies and experience from other countries regarding solutions to the interest of the city residents and the environment.
The government and the municipalities, by and large, chose solutions that serve the interests of big contractors in a way that there will be profit either for them or the municipalities through town dues.
A whole army of riot police forces – more than 1.500 men - accompanied the machinery of the contractors at 04.00 am on Saturday, 11 of December 2010. It is about a particularly beautiful area with archeological sites. Still the residents of Keratea were not surprised and after alarming the church bells and tooting their claxons assembled to defend their home town. Ever since then, the attacks by the riot police forces are constant day in – day out despite the court decisions in favor of the residents. The government considers the so called legitimacy – in the cases that it is in favor of the residents, as in the case of Keratea – as well as the laws and the Constitution simple waste.

Solidarity to the people of Keratea
Their struggle is ours as well

Solidarity with the Tunisian revolt!

Athens, December 16th, 2011

The sacrifice of a small peddler who set himself on fire on the 17th of last December after having his wares confiscated because he had no “permit”, has sparked a widespread fire on all cities of Tunisia. For a month now the people of this country, with the youth in the forefront, are revolting against the reactionary and autocratic regime. This revolt that started as anger against high prices and unemployment but also against political repression was quickly transformed to a political confrontation and demand for the overthrow of the president and his reactionary regime.
The response of the reactionary forces was the intensification of the repression with 70 dead, hundreds of wounded and widespread arrests of communists and leftists. But the people goes on and escalates his demonstrations so the president Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, a lackey of the western imperialists, is forced to flee the country and the PM Mohammed Ghannouchi announces that he will lead the country to elections, in order to disorientate the people and stem the popular resistance. But the popular masses and the youth insist on their resistance although the regime deploys the army and tanks in order to suppress the popular revolt.
The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) expresses its solidarity with the fighting people of Tunisia and calls all left forces of our country to support jointly the struggle of the Tunisian people and demand the release of all political prisoners.

Communiqué of the ILPS International Coordinating Committee

Written by International Coordinating Committee
SATURDAY, 07 FEBRUARY 2009
6 February 2009

The International Coordinating Committee (ICC) of the International League of Peoples' Struggle (ILPS) held its meeting on February 5-6, 2009 in the Netherlands in the midst of rising resistance of the peoples of the world to the most serious imperialist crisis since the 1930s and shortly after global protests against the brutal Zionist aggression in Gaza.

Chairperson Jose Maria Sison reported on the internal memoranda he issued on various matters since 30 June 2008. These memoranda dealt with the assessment of the Third International Assembly (TIA), the drawing up of a calendar of ILPS activities and campaigns, submission by the commissions of materials for volume II of the book on the TIA, guidelines on the formation of national chapters, suggested amendments on the draft By-Laws and on the plan to hold a forum on the global economic and financial crisis.

The Chairperson also informed the body regarding the statements on major issues and events and messages of solidarity to ILPS forces and friends that he issued in his function as spokesperson of ILPS. Among the major issues and events he addressed were the global capitalist economic and financial crisis, US hypocrisy on the Russian-Georgian conflict, support for the Greek people’s struggle in December 2008 and building solidarity actions against the Zionist attack on Gaza.

The Chairperson announced the publication and availability of Volume I of the Third ILPS International Assembly This contains the major documents approved by the TIA as well as the speeches during the plenary sessions. He urged the ICC and ILPS member-organizations to use the book for propagating the ILPS, enlisting more member-organizations and raising funds.

Vice-Chairperson on Internal Affairs Dr. Carol P. Araullo submitted to the body the reports of 12 commissions and her comments. She cited the different levels of development of the commissions and pointed to the need for other commissions to exert more efforts to strengthen themselves.

Vice-Chairperson for External Affairs Manolis Arkolakis proposed that he and the Vice-Chairperson for Internal Affairs worked closer in relation to expanding the contacts and developing relations with other forces and alliances.

Secretary General Arman Riazi sent a report on the international campaigns against displacement and other campaigns launched by the ILPS.

The Treasurer presented a report on the current status of ILPS finances. He said that there has been a marked improvement in revenues particularly in the payment of membership dues.

The ICC went over the draft By-Laws submitted by the International Coordinating Group (ICG), made amendments and approved it.

ICC members gave reports on ILPS activities in their respective countries. They reported on mobilizations they carried out on major issues such as on the current global economic and financial crisis.

The most exhilarating and memorable part of the two-day meeting were the reports on the global activities of ILPS member organizations. On five continents they were on the front lines in the protests against Israeli attempt to annihilate the people of Gaza, even braving temperatures of -20 degrees in Canada. ICC members also heard a first hand report about the powerful uprising of the people of Greece, actions in the US following the police murder of young Oscar Grant, protests in Brazil against the criminalization of poor peasants struggling for land and the defense of Amazonia and the Indonesian people's movement against land grabbing and palm oil plantations.

ICC members also reported on the efforts and prospects for strengthening and expanding the ILPS organization at various levels through the setting up of national chapters and global region committees.

Commissions of the ILPS presented reports on their activities and future plans. The ICC discussed the reports and made decisions on the recommendations of the commissions and the Vice Chairperson for Internal Affairs. It instructed the General Secretariat to publish the organizational status and calendar of activities of the commissions.

The ICC approved the following resolutions:

Resolution in Support of the Palestinian People

Resolution on the Economic and Financial Crisis

Resolution on the 6th Anniversary of US Imperialist-Led Occupation of Iraq

Resolution in Solidarity for the People's Movements for Peace and Democracy in the Korea Peninsula

Resolution Against the Criminalization of Poverty in Brazil

The ICC resolved to launch three coordinated struggles globally for 2009:

Continue the global resistance against the continuing displacements of peasants, rural folk and other working people from their homes, lands, farms and communities.

Heighten the coordinated struggles against imperialist aggression and wars in Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan and in other parts of the world including the resistance to US military preserve and bases.

Launch a globally coordinated struggle, including support to RESIST, against imperialist exploitation and oppression in the effort of monopoly capital to pass on to the working people of the world the burden of the current imperialist economic and financial crisis.

The ICC resolved that the ILPS mobilize its member organizations, allies, and the masses in general for these globally coordinated struggles as well as several key struggles of international significance:

Commemoration of the 6th anniversary of invasion of Iraq on March 21, 2009

Expose and oppose imperialist agenda in the G20 meeting in London, UK, in March 2009

Protest actions against the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of NATO, April 1-5, 2009

People's Tribunal on the Asian Development Bank Meeting in Bali, Indonesia in May 2009

Support the International Migrants Alliance (IMA) to expose and oppose the Global Forum on Migration and Development in Athens, Greece on November 4-5, 2009.
