The New Communist Party of Romania is deeply worried about hostilities in Caucasus

The New Communist Party of Romania is deeply worried about and firmly condemns the escalation of long-running hostilities in Caucasus, which has resulted in what seems to be a full-blown war between Georgia and Russia over the separatist regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

This current war ought to be regarded as the expression of rivalries that exist within the imperialist camp, that is, between great capitalist powers vying for regional as well as global dominance.

In the past years, seizing on the weakness of the new capitalist Russia that had emerged from the breakup of the Soviet Union, the American imperialists have taken steps to assert their hegemony in places like the Balkans, the Middle East, the Caucasus and Central Asia. In 1999 they bombed Yougoslavia and forced it to relinquish its control of Kosovo. In 2001 they invaded Afghanistan, in 2003 they invaded Iraq and istigated a right-wing coup in Georgia which ousted the pro-Russian president Shevarnadze and set up a pro-American regime headed by president Saakashvilli, which is seeking EU and NATO membership.

But in the recent years Russia has overcome the deep crisis of the 1990s and a new class of mega-capitalists, of super-rich oligarchs has emerged. These oligarchs, just like their American counterparts, seek to expand abroad and, as a result, Russia has become- through companies like RusAl, Evraz, Norilsk- an important exporter of capital- mainly to poorer countries in Eastern Europe, Central Asia or Africa, but also, to a lesser extent, to rich Western countries. The Russian capitalists are no longer willing to play second fiddle to the American ones. They no longer want to be dominated, on the contrary, they want to dominate others. The rise of the new "assertive Russia" in recent years is in fact nothing but an expression of the rise of a new class of international capitalists with their own dreams of world domination.

But, since the American capitalists also happen to want world dominance there can be, under the current system based on profit and greed, only one outcome: confrontation, and this is exactly what we're seeing today. World capitalism once again finds itself on the verge of plunging mankind into the abyss of an inter-imperialist war.

It is obvious that BOTH the American imperialists and the Russian imperialists are to blame for the current war. It is obvious that what we're dealing with is a replay of what happened 100 years ago, prior to the outbreak of World War One. Today's US resembles the British Empire of 100 years ago, today's Russia resembles the German Empire of 100 years ago.

The American imperialists are guilty for setting a dangerous precedent with the unilateral declaration of the independence of Kosovo. They are also to blame for trying to include Georgia- as well as Ukraine- in the imperialist NATO alliance. At the same time the Russian capitalists are to blame for seeking to expand to other countries and for supporting the separatist forces in the- albeit nominally- independent and sovereign state of Georgia. This is a confrontation between two rival gangs of international robbers.

The international working class- as well as Communists all over the world- are duty-bound to actively and resolutely oppose this imperialist war. The international working class should, under no circumstances, take sides in the current imperialist war. Both sides should be actively and resolutely opposed by the international proletariat and the international Communist movement.

As regards the two imperialist camps taken separately, the Communist and workers there must know that their main enemy is AT HOME, and, therefore, that their main task is to fight the capitalists WITHIN. Should an inter-imperialist war break out, the main duty of US workers would be to fight the US imperialists, whereas Russian workers would be duty-bound to fight the Russian imperialists. This is the only way forward for the international working class. For the workers and Communists inside the two camps the only path worth taking is the path Lenin and the Bolsheviks took 100 years ago.

The main enemy is WITHIN!

Let’s give substance and hope to our struggle

Workers’ May 1st

Workers, youth, men and women,

We are celebrating this year’s May 1st in a situation where broad sections of the working class and people’s masses, across the world and in our country are awakening and participate all the more, strongly and massively in the struggle. At the same time the attack of the capitalist-imperialist system becomes more aggressive and new sufferings is being shifted on their shoulders. The capital forces demand and attempt to impose their complete dominance over the working class and the great imperialist powers, through their fierce rivalry among them, claim new distribution of the market and influence zones. For this purpose they consolidate and escalate the threats and the military interventions in a number of regions, slaughtering the people. The peoples in the Balkans, the Middle East, Afghanistan, and Iraq have paid and are still paying with their blood the imperialist barbarism.
The Balkans has become the center of imperialist rivalry and the US intervention in the region generates new danger for all the Balkan peoples. That is why their common struggle against NATO and to oust the imperialists form the region acquires great significance.
Workers, men and women,
We are celebrating this year’s May 1st in an optimist atmosphere due to the strikes, given every day by the peoples of Afghanistan and Iraq to the US murderers; along with the heroic struggle of the people of Palestine and Lebanon against the Israeli Zionist criminals.
Similar optimist messages are sent by the armed revolutionary struggles of the peoples in the “storm zones” that become stronger day be day. A great example is the recent electoral victory of Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) that through a decade long armed struggle gained the trust of the masses and the people of labor and toil in the front stage, giving them hope for a better future.
We are celebrating May 1st , after a great battle we have given against the anti-people reform in social security policy. To this government’s policy, the workers responded with three shaking general strikes. Hundreds of thousands workers went out to the streets and demonstrated their anger, across the country without though acquiring the victory they so much wanted.
The responsibility for the passage of such an anti-people law lies on the leadership of the General Worker’s Confederation of Greece along with the parliamentary opposition. They, not only supported the general strikes but they did everything they could to undermine them. All workers realized that this struggle was conducted in the streets; the real field of confrontation, but the parliamentary opposition and the trade union leadership stopped it and shifted it within the parliament. Instead of new strikes they were proposing a referendum and they were collecting signatures for this purpose along with legalistic tricks. All this nonsense was done in order to stop the struggle, in order to avoid having the workers active, in order to sign treacherous collective agreements on wages and subjugate completely under the demands of the capital and the European Union directives.
The trade union leadership in the public and private sector submit all the more to the capital and become more dangerous for all the people of labor. That is why we should pull them out of the way.
The way of class struggle and the revolutionary perspective of the movement must open and consolidate; along with the struggle against the system of exploitation and imperialist barbarism. This struggle for a new society, without exploiters and oppressors, with peoples living and struggling peacefully and fraternally will reach to the end!
Always, with our brothers and sisters migrants, to strengthen common struggles for the world we dream of.
Let’s give substance and hope to our struggle!

Murderers of the People out of the Balkans!

Press Statement of CPG (m-l)

The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) condemns the creation of the American-NATO protectorate of Kosovo. We believe that this act is the continuation of the attempt to conquer the Balkans by the American and European imperialists. It is an expression of the assault of imperialist capital in order to re-conquer and re-colonize the world. This was realized by the hacking into pieces of Yugoslavia, the bombardment with uranium bombs, and the bloodshed of its people.
It has the objective of the formation of a political-military base for the American and European domination in the Balkans. The creation of yet another military base, yet another foothold of American imperialism in European ground.
At the same time this act exacerbates the contradictions between American, European and Russian imperialists.
Against these grindstones of the imperialist contradictions, that threaten to squash them, the people of the Balkans have one and only choice:
To seek those things that can unite them.
To organize a unified front of struggle against their common enemies, the imperialists and their local puppets.
To be the masters of their own lives and future.

STATEMENT OF Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) on the arrest of com. Govindan Kutty, editor of People's March

The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) strongly condemns the arrest of comrade Govindan Kutty, editor of People's March and demands its immediate and unconditional release.

We express our solidarity to the Indian comrades and also to the people of India who are being subjected to state terror by the GOI for many years. The governments and the imperialists all over the world are trying to gag the progressive and revolutionary individuals, organizations and parties. They are trying to keep the people into the dark, to stop them by organizing themselves and fighting back. They are trying to abolish all the democratic rights like the freedom of speech and of expression, rights that were won by the people through long and bloody struggles.

They are trying to stop the revolutionary attempts that are gaining ground in Southeast Asia, in Latin America and elsewhere. Day by day the people of the world find out their strength and the system its weakness. That's what they are afraid of and that's why they use state terror against progressive people and revolutionaries, that's what they are trying to stop. But they will not succeed. We will continue our right cause and struggle.

WE DEMAND THE IMMEDIATE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF COM. GOVINDAN KUTTY!!
WE DEMAND THE CONTINUATION OF THE PUBLICATION OF PEOPLE'S MARCH MAGAZINE
